FriedrichNix Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Tried AAR with an 135MPRS tanker and the the new keybind on my HOTAS. Although the pilot said "Ready Pre Contact", the tanker didn't receive it. When clicking on the corresponding menu item in the radio menu with the mouse, I was able to get fuel. In my today session, this was reproducable...
Zabuzard Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Whose radio was configured for the tanker, Pilot or WSO?

Yeah, about that, if you use such a binding (tanker or ball) who's radio is used for the call? Zabuzard Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Some guys on Discord reported that it works if the pilot radio is tuned to it. So this is now a known oversight that we will fix eventually.

Ball is the RIO's radio, as it is the only one that can tune to mom. I thought it was a global call, doesn't matter which radio is tuned. 49 minutes ago, Zabuzard said: Some guys on Discord reported that it works if the pilot radio is tuned to it. Rio tuned to tanker (pilot radio out of freq) -> Pre contact from key binding works but no response from the tanker. 1
Zabuzard Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Yeah, they arent "global" if done through code. The calls work slightly different than the ones from the DCS menu. Thanks for investigating. 2
FriedrichNix Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 (edited) Hi - couldn't respond earlier. Yeah - I usually let Jester tune his radio to the tanker, because he knows all the frequencies. I actually didn't tune the pilot radio to the tanker frequency. Of course prior to calling "ready pre contact" I was sure to select the right radio to transmit (as you know in DCS usually the last used radio is the active one for the menu items). Thank you for resolving this! Edited October 29 by FriedrichNix 1

We have 4 PTT buttons - for ICS, UHF1, UHF2 and BOTH (not implemented). Each one has their own menu. How do you select "active" or make calls on it? 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 MiG-29A F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
FriedrichNix Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 I have not bound the DCS Voice buttons, I have bound the radio buttons (Radio1/Radio2/ICS). With each press the menu for the pressed radio appears (top right), second press disappears (actually any button). Nevertheless, I added --AAR Communications {down = iCommandPlaneRefuelingReadyPreContact, name = ('A/A refueling - "Ready for precontact"radio call'), category = ('Communications')}, to my default.lua in the keyboard section of the F14B pilot. Now, I have Tanker on RIO Radio (Radio2). I press the radio transmit button once (and let the button go, so no radio is transmitting). I can then push the bound button on my hotas (of the above item in my modified config) and the tanker receives the call. If I push the Radio 1 button because I want to say something on there (SRS is bound there, too), I let go of the button (no transmission) and then push the button on the hotas with "Ready precontact", the call is transmitted via Radio 1. That's what I meant, that the last radio that transmitted something is being selected as the "active" radio. It does this also on other aircraft, like the Hornet or the Viper. Don't know if I explained it well enough... 1
