Mr_sukebe Posted Friday at 06:36 PM Posted Friday at 06:36 PM (edited) I’m feeling inspired by the news about the Balkans map, and as such, I’m hoping that the Devs may consider introducing a new missile type, the HM1. This is an open source missile type with the following capabilities: - can be mounted on any airframe capable of carrying an air to air missile (ie available to aircraft of all nations) - is a dud when fired at an AI aircraft, with rocket motor failure after 2 seconds and a trajectory of an unguided rocket - can only be mounted on AI aircraft or SAM units When fired at a real player: - acquires targets as though it’s an R73 and has the same manoeuvrability - is a rear aspect only missile - emits a radar signature as though it’s an R26, including radar lock when fired - accelerates as an R26 and has the same top speed - on approaching its target, air brakes to a speed matching that of the target, such that it follows 200m to the rear - in the unlikely event of it accidentally hitting the target, it will only inflict superficial damage or disable one engine - has a long burn efficient rocket motor to keep it flying for 5 minutes If possible, would be great to have it available in just under 5 months.
