Triangle99
Hi I am wondering two things and hoping someone may have an answer: 1) What does the Ka-50 actually do when it turns in response to a turn on target command whilst in auto-hover? Does it use the cyclic or the rudder or both? 2) How do I manually turn during auto-hover? I have tried by using the cyclic (joystick left or right) but I end up banking too hard very quickly, gaining speed and threatening loss of hover. I have used the rudder, too, which is much more effective but a rudder-initiated turn is only temporary and release of the pedals sends the chopper back to its original, pre-turn position. Any advice would be great. crazysundog
I would turn with the rudder, and when you are pointing in the direction you want, hit the Trim button. That will save your heading to the autopilot.(be careful not to input on cyclic, or you may disturb your hover.) Also, i'm pretty sure that the TurnonTarget command sends a signal to the AP to use rudder to turn.
