Itkovian Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Salutations. I believe I read it is possible to set the Shkval to track and scan an area automatically, but I've never managed to make it happen intentionally (I've seen it scan, but not sure how I did it). Therefore, I must ask yet another question :) : How do you set the Shkval to scan and track automaticaly, and under which conditions does it work? To clarify, I mean that the camera moves on its own looking for targets to lock onto. Thank you. Itkovian
sobek Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I think you got it wrong, the shkval will not aquire targets automatically, it will just scan it's gimbal field until you tell it to stop. This can be done by pressing the uncage button while the shkval is already uncaged. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
GGTharos Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Correct, the Shkval is incapable of designating targets on its own. It's just a camera with a tracking loop that will track a particular change in constrast that you point it at, nothing more. I can't recognize shapes or know which constrasting 'blob' is a valid target vs. a bush or tree or building in the distance. Itkovian Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Ah, I see then, very well, thank you. Itkovian
GGTharos Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Incidentally, just press 'o' to make it start scanning. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
