Have the devs acknowledged this as a bug? Clearly thermal imaging is not working properly.

I haven't flown the A-10 for a while, but I wanted to know: has the TGP issue been resolved in the last few months? By this, I mean the issue where it's practically impossible to spot vehicles in IR using the TGP (particularly in mission 3)? I know Dragon suggested installing a mod to enhance the contrast, but is this still necessary?

What's scary is that one of the main reasons they went for the 18 was its twin engines... F-35 is single engine. Heck, I remember reading "Viper Pilot", where in between french jokes the author mentions how Viper training constantly stressed and practiced flame-out landings... something which came in handy in actual flight several times in his career. Now imagine doing this off of an aircraft carrier, how many airframes would this have cost the Navy? I wonder how the Navy is calculating its wastage rate for single-engined F-35s? They have GOT to be considering a significantly higher rate than the twin-engined F-18, no?

It's good to know I'm not alone in this. I was flying the third mission yesterday (the first combat patrol mission), and ended up having to use labels in order to find the enemy... and even then it was very difficult to spot them on the TGP. Looking forward to this bug being fixed, as there's no way this is realistic, at least based on footage I've seen.

I have a question: Is BalticDragon going to be making the campaign included with the module, or a separate DLC campaign for the M2000? Either way, I'm excited to hear Baltic is doing a M2000 campaign, as his A-10C one is excellent.

Well, for one thing, adding CATOBAR to a carrier is in fact a massive investment (the gear is massively complex and high maintenance), hence why the RN is avoiding it. That said, I would agree that adding a VTOL version is responsible for a lot of problems with the F-35. How you can accomplish that on the same airframe is highly impressive (but I can only imagine the massive tradeoffs that necessitated).

It's possible to get the EGI aligned while in flight? Where is that option?

I believe there are two main reasons for that: 1- The Ka-50 does not have a gunner, which is why we see its design much more focused on being a long range "sniper": all its weapon systems are forward facing and generally encourage finding a nice spot to hit at long range from, rather than "wade in". 2- The current mount tends to be more accurate than turret mounts (well, not sure if that's true as of today, mind you), which again seems to follow the above design philosophy. Of course, the Ka-52 still uses the side mount AND has a gunner, so maybe I'm full of it. :p

This looks excellent! Lack of SP content has been a major issue for me with DCS A-10C, so this is a godsend. Now I need to get back into my A-10C. :)

Campaign progress lost. Salutations. I just updated to the current version (from whatever version was current in early June), and now I find that my progress through the Black Shark deployment campaign is gone (might have been all progress, but that was the only campaign I had in progress). Is this a known issue, or standard effect of the upgrade? Is there a way to get back my lost progress? It should be noted that my logbook still shows that I have completed the 9 campaign missions I did, but in the campaigns menu all campaigns are listed as inactive. Thank you. Itkovian

Mine works that way as well, and I think your test proves it conclusively (well, it would if you posted a track :p), FFB sticks do not get the nose dive. In fact, I'm pretty sure all FFB sticks have a switch like that, otherwise the motors would ALWAYS be pushing the stick, which would probably burn them out (you REALLY don't want your FFB stick operating when you're browsing the web :p).

Now THAT I can say that it does not. The only movement will be your own fault, due to the FFB motor turning off and on repeatedly.

Well, downloaded F-15C, looking good. A bit sad that the campaign only has 11 missions, mind you. Maybe there are some user made ones?

I will try tonight, bit busy. I have to admit, however, I never tested with 150 knots of difference between trim positions. Maybe that plays a role. Either way, I'll try it out. Itkovian

I tested it, and I can confirm that there is no sudden dive. The only "jerky" movement is caused by your own hand jerking when the FFB suddenly cuts out and back in. If you have proper control, click trimming will not cause a nose dive or anything of the sort with FFB.

Very nice. Sounds pretty good... And I assume the manual is in the download then? It's just strange its not downloadable from the main website (again, I mean the F-15C, not the A-10C :p).

I don't ahve DCS F-15C yet, but I'm seriously considering getting it... and if there's a manual that'd be a bonus: going on vacation soon and there's little I love more than curling up with a study sim's manual in my lap (even if it's on my tablet :p).
