question about switch covers and svmapper

I have started to build my cockpit in stages. I have gone with leo bodners BU0836 card.

The question I have is if i use svmapper to program my switch to key command how do you go about activating something if it has a cover on the switch in game.

EG the landing gear emergency hydraulics selector the actual switch command is LALT G but to lift or lower the switch cover is LCTRL G.

If i move my actual cockpit switch and use svmapper to simulate LALT G will that work or do i have to do something to lift the cover first?

if you hit LALT G it will open the switch cover and work the switch in one shot. You would have to send LALT G, LCTRL G to turn the siwtch off and close the cover (if you are not using an actual switch in your cover).

Thats not entirly accurate. if you have a switch with a cover you would expect to use LALT G to operate the switch, but this is not always the case. I find that using svmapper to operate switches i have to use the switch press twice. first LALT G opens the cover - second LALT G operates the switch. After that the switch operates and the cover will not ever change from open.

I havent experemented yet with useing two commands for the switch cover state. (ill give it a try tomorrow and report back perhaps)

I am currently running 3 of leos boards with latched toggles and normal push buttons. Because of the above limitations - i only use latched toggles with switches that dont have covers in the sim.

I see what you mean, sorry for the mixup. It should be very easy to send a macro with the mapper to do both. How will you do a manual startup if you don't map for switches with covers?

best of luck...
