bbray6744 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I am training to learn to play DCS Blackshark so after going through the training vids in the game I have decided to create a mission for myself that just lets me start up in the chopper, get the engines started, take off and fly around. After I go to mission editor I select only Russia as the side. After trying to setup my mission when I go to play mission I just get popped into what looks like the mission editor....just looking down on map. No helicopter. What am I doing wrong?
Feuerfalke Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I know, silly question, but did you place a Ka-50 in your mission with pilot = "Player" ? MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
bbray6744 Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 OK, i see what I did. I clicked on helipcopter, then added my ka-50 then went to the next selection and never actually placed the icon. Now it works. My next question is why does it start me in air and not on ground with engines off?
bbray6744 Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 OKay...nevermind...got that answer too. Sorry....hehe, thanks
miguez Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Hi bbray6744, welcome to the forums! I am glad you are finding answers, as this Mission Editor has a certain learning curve. For extra help, one of the PDFs installed with the game is the GUI Manual. The name, to me, was deceiving, as I though it only covered the main GUI, on how to change your settings, etc, but it has pretty detailed Mission Editor information in there, including important stuff such as what equipment you need at a FARP to have fuel, weapons, comms available, etc., pretty nice! It all starts on page 50. Have fun, and share your missions in the Missions forum if you'd like, we'll try them out! 1
