Boberro Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Hey, I post this question here, it is related to BS and Lock on. I want to get Hi-res resolution textures inside cockpit, but keep low all another textures (planes, terrain, buildings ect). How to do that? Why it is not separated option? No everybody wants to keep hi-res textures of everything = FPS drop. In low setting cockpit is not readable at all. Sometimes I get in FC I have hi-res cockpit but dunno how it happens, don't know it was accident or I did something. If there will be no any easy solution I am going to cut all textures, rename it as High, so BS\LO will think it loads Hi-res but it will load low, so it is my next question - Does LO\BS load low textures by simple loading smaller resolution graphic files or game blurs\cut file to smaller dimensions in real time? :) Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Kuky Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I think this is where Land_LOD's would help... set them low and terrain will have low quality texture and cockpit will stay the same. Boberro Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 What exactly values do u mean? Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
ARM505 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 There isn't such an option, but it would be a very welcome addition.
Kuky Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 well LockOn has the Graphics.lua where you set Land LOD which is for ground textures distances... but in BS it's no longer used I think. Boberro Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Oh I found these values about textures, I try them. BTW, for what are these values: Map { L01 = 50000; L12 = 120000; L23 = 200000; L34 = 300000; L45 = 400000; } MapAlt { L01 = 50000; L12 = 120000; L23 = 200000; L34 = 300000; L45 = 400000; } MapTex { L01 = 50000; L12 = 120000; L23 = 200000; L34 = 300000; L45 = 400000; I tested, graphics.cfg is still used in BS, however when I change Land lods terrain is so ugly and there are troubles with units lock so, I must resign from this solution :S It seems I have to rename all textures from low to high name, by this LO\DCS will load low textures thinking he is loading high, without land shkval lock lossing.
