thaFunkster Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 golfsierra, Stupid question, as I am sure I know the answer, but if you crack your gear on landing, but still come to a full stop on runway, does that qualify? Funk on YouTube!
hotray Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 golfsierra, Stupid question, as I am sure I know the answer, but if you crack your gear on landing, but still come to a full stop on runway, does that qualify? No, not at all a stupid question! The qualification mission is not completed if you crash your aircraft What is the definition of "crash" in this competition? The word crash as an event in the mission debriefing? Or just visible damages on the aircraft? we can't see external views... :noexpression: So from my point of view the answer should be: "crash" is only a crash if it is listed in the mission debriefing. blibet suber! ray Swiss Jet Team Movie 2021
golfsierra2 Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 To clarify this: For TCR, a belly landing or a landing were the gear is broken is considered a crash. If you ruin your aicraft with a hard landing after which it is no longer able to take off and can not be repaired in game, it is considered a crash /loss by race control. Sorry if I take away some seconds from your timings, but you should perform a 'normal' landing at the end and not smash you aircraft on the runway just to save 2-3 seconds. That is not aim of the game. :smilewink: kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
golfsierra2 Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 "crash" is only a crash if it is listed in the mission debriefing. Mission debriefing is not considered for evaluation by race control. kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
hotray Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 thanks for clarifying that. another question: How will race control judge a touch-and-go or landing as "normal". Is landing on the runway mandatory or is a touch-and-go/landing on taxiway/tarmac allowed? For my part I'd prefer takeoff, touch-and-go and landing mandatory on runways... blibet suber! ray Swiss Jet Team Movie 2021
golfsierra2 Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 Please read the ReadMe that came with the qualification mission file: "For the qualification, you need to know the following rules: - Save the .mis file to the mission folder of your Lock-On installation - When you run it, record your flight as a track file - Your task is: Take off from SAKI airbase and turn east towards the given waypoint. The waypoint is just for navigation, you don't need to overfly it. Do a touch & go at GVARDESKOYE airbase with the gear down, and return to SAKI airbase for a full stop. - You have do a valid touch & go, so the tires have to touch the runway (you clearly can hear it), just a low level overflight is not considered as a valid touch & go. - You may choose any landing / take off direction and any altitude setting. - You may change the internal / external fuel load as required. - The gear must not stay lowered during the flight ! - The mission file is classified, do not change any settings (wind, temperature etc.) except the fuel load. - The qualification will be considered incomplete if you fail to perform a valid touch & go at GVARDESKOYE. " kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
hotray Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 ok, landing at SAKI can be performed on tarmac. thanks. blibet suber! ray Swiss Jet Team Movie 2021
golfsierra2 Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 ok, landing at SAKI can be performed on tarmac. thanks. Negative sir. Please stop twisting rules: "- You may choose any landing / take off direction and any altitude setting." That clearly refers to a runway. Tarmac / taxiways don't have a landing / take off direction. kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
thaFunkster Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Yeah I think it's pretty clear it means the runway. Thanks for clearing that up for us. Funk on YouTube!
