wolf_288 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Hi how to see the air defence detection zones in ABRIS
EtherealN Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 The ABRIS will display information like the real one would - which means you'll only get information on enemy positions that your side knew about at the start of the mission (or systems detected by your wingman in recon mode). If memory serves the ABRIS will show threat areas for SAM sites that are known in this way, but you cannot make it calculate enemy detection ranges because... well... that would be impossible as far as I know. EvilBivol-1 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Corret, the ABRIS will display known SAM threat zones, i.e. the ones that were not hidden on the mission map by the mission maker. The ABRIS will calculate this zone based on your line of sight to the threat, which is based on your altitude versus surrounding terrain elevations. The ABRIS has no real-time information on the movements of these vehicles, so it only displays their position as known at the start of the mission. If the threat moves, the ABRIS will no longer display its position accurately. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
Frederf Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 The ABRIS displays information about these threats if it has been entered before the mission begins (pretty much requires it to be set in the mission editor). I think there is a menu option in the ABRIS to turn off the display of such threat circles but it's on by default.
