Joe Kurr Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Last week-end, some 350 flightsim enthousiasts assembled in the AvioDrome museum at Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands for this year's International Flight Simulator Weekend. It turned out to be a big success, with close to 3000 visitors over two days. As many people (even fellow flightsimmers) think MS Flightsimulator when they see someone playing a flight sim, we had to explain countless times that LoFC is not a different scenery to MSFS. Over the week-end, we did four 4-ship formation flights, which had the expected effect of blocking the entrance to the exposition hall with a mob of spectators :) When we were not doing formation flights, we mostly had two systems running Black Shark, and two systems on LoFC, and gave visitors te opportunity to try both sims out. Both our cockpits, running mostly LoFC, were fitted with the new Logitech G940 HOTAS. LigerZero also did his "Living mannequin" gimmick, scaring the hell out of several visitors by jumping up and shaking hands with them :) Below are some pictures I made during the week-end. Due to the number of people visiting and asking questions, I didn't have time to walk around, so I mostly took pictures of our own stand. Wasserfalls employer gave us a nice present: a brand-new decor for our stand :) Wasserfall tries a ramp-start with the Ka-50 without a checklist Lightsniper explains Black Shark to a visitor Wasserfall gave his Su-27 instrument panel another update An overview of our surroundings, with the Dutch Flight Network in the lower left corner, the VRNLAF (Virtual Royal Netherlands Air Force) in the lower right, and the Dutch Flanker Display Team (that's us) in the middle near the F-104 Our mascot 'Poekie' (pronounced as Pooky) has become a familiar sight at all events we visit Visitors try out the Su-27 under the watchfull eye of instructors Lightsniper and LigerZero Way too soon it was time to pack up and head home again. Panzertard Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Nice to see such a huge interest for pixelfliers. :) It sounds like we're getting a few new dutch rookies  Wasserfall tries a ramp-start with the Ka-50 without a checklist "tries"? Okai, back to flightschool! :D The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
