EtherealN Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 TrackIR? What do you have in the background? Antivirus programs? Anyways, if you could supply a DxDiag file we could analyse the system and see if there's any problems in it. Your suspsicion that it might be as if it is reading something may be entirely correct (after all, when you crash there will be explosions and stuff, so it might be loading sound files for that). This could also be caused by completely other issues, so that DxDiag file would help eliminate that possibility. EtherealN Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 If you don't have an anti-virus program I would suggest that you get one. ;) I'll look into this further once I have that DxDiag to analyse. My strongest suspicion is something with your sound drivers - or DirectSound corruption. I love it I have a problem with the sim its my pc's problem, if you ask me this is bs. I have been reading all of the other posts in the forum, not one problem has been the sim, its allways the customer, if I said I had antivirus you probley would tell me to take it off. rofl. you dont know what your talking about. unless you can give me some valid information, I dont want to hear it even if you are the mod, Edited December 6, 2009 by sage0030
EtherealN Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 What DxDiag has to do with anything? It's a diagnostics tool that would allow me to see if your system is healthy. If something is broken in DirectSound it might cause this little thing called "stuttering" when certain sound effects are in play. And since you are experiencing an issue that in it's behaviour is similar my suspicion is that it is not your BS install that is broken - it is either a driver, your DirectSound, or the registry. In order to exclude those in the chase for a cause - I need to see that DxDiag file. If I do not get that file, all I can do is guess. And my guess is: you have registry issues affecting DirectSound and/or DirectDraw. If that is true, it is the only way to make your simulator run faster. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

I know your editing my coments, edit my posts all you want :-) Edited December 6, 2009 by sage0030
franx Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 EtherealN, when you say "sound drivers" on an issue like this (I've been have having similar lag and stuttering problems for a year), you mean the mobo's sound drivers, right? Example: I have an ASUS A8NE motherboard with Realtek AC97 onboard sound. The latest AC97 mobo drivers are from about 2006 or 2007 off the ASUS site. Might this be solved by getting a separate sound card? But then how would I remove (if necessary) the other sound drivers? aka MadMonk; Windows 10, 64 bit, Radeon 6800XT gpu, Ryzen 5 5600 cpu, 32 gig ram; Samsung 2TB EVO SSD, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and stick, Saitek combat rudder pedals; Oculus Rift.
EtherealN Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) Sage, If you do not realize that drivers and issues in the registry can cause such issues then that is your problem. Let me quote myself: "This could also be caused by completely other issues, so that DxDiag file would help eliminate that possibility." What I am trying to do is ELIMINATE other possible causes. This is standard procedure when troubleshooting a complex system - such as a modern computer. If you have truly read "all of the other posts in the forum" (right) then you will also have seen that this strange thing called "DxDiag" actually finds issues sometimes where as soon as those issues are sorted - the problem vanishes! It is NOT a "stupid file", it's the output of an analysis tool that is an easy way to ensure that there is nothing else causing the issue - like registry issues. But that's all the effort I'll go into here. If you don't want help then you won't get it. ;) I would highlight though that "latest drivers" doesn't always mean "best". Good example: the fact that ATI released drivers for the x1950 series that doesn't have full OpenGL support on that one (that ceased with 8.12, but they "officially supported" the card until 9.3). But anyway, since you are now only asking if others have the same problem and don't want help to resolve it (although your first post said "can somone please help me here.") I'll be on my way. Best of luck sir. You should not be required to actually remove the drivers for the onboard sound, just disable the onboard soundcard. But before you purchase a plugin sound card you should ensure that there really is an improvement if you disable the sound cirquit. No point spending money before you know it'll actually fix anything. And if that does fix something you should first ask around for ideas on sound card to pick - people have had issues with some version of the X-Fi for example, so it's always a good idea to look around thoroughly first and above all to eliminate all other possible causes (like driver corruption (see driversweeper), registry errors and so on). I think your missing my point, I have to alter my pc to get this running smooth? it should be the other way around, I might as well be using a mac for this sim, if its that incompabible you really need to come out with a patch or somthing to resolve this. ITS FRESH INSTALL ALL NEW DRIVERS. I could understand if I was having issues with other problems, IM ONLY HAVING ISSUE WITH THIS FREAKING SIM, dont give me this crap about antivirus blahh blahh blahhh, somone comes on this forum to ask for help you tell them its there pc BS!!!! FIX THE STUDDERING. ill uninstall it untill its fixed, dont know why I came in here to ask for help to tell me its my pc. you dont know what your talking about. Edited December 6, 2009 by sage0030
