xclusiv8 Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Hi guys! I just got myself a cheap copy of Lock On: Moder Air Combat and im in the process of making a profile for my X52. I was just wondering what the shift, D-ZONE and CURV settings do ingame. Right now i have the line on the graph thingy set to resemble an S basicly. Can someone plz explaine to me what these things do?? Thank you.
Presing Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I do not use curve and dead-zone, its for axis and how your joystick will respond. I think it's for the best to not use it. If you want to see how it will work you can press the the test button in the input. Hope this help. Presing Rocket brigade who retired F-117
Frostie Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 D-ZONE = Dead zone, were no input will occur from your joystick. Basically the bigger the dead zone the more play the stick has at its central postion. CURVE = The 'S' you create. This is how your joystick input is delivered, a bigger 'S' will result in a gradual input were as a diagonal line will be more fluid and instantaneous -- If your flying the Su-25T (which is in the ADD-ON 'Flaming Cliffs' ) then you want this to be diagonal, any other plane wants to be a nice 'S', to suit yourself. SHIFT = The max range of the sticks input, you can set this where your maximum input will occur, obviously its best to set this at the very peak of the range. -- Layman's terms, if you have the SHIFT set low, when you pull on the stick you will reach the games maximum pull before you reach your sticks, eg. half pull on your stick equals max pull on the plane, and vice versa for setting this the otherway. Aeroscout Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) I keep it pretty linear, but add a slight curve (the first notch or so) and a slight dead zone, but I really don't need it with the precision of the CH sticks. With an X52, you pretty much NEED a deadzone. Again, a slight curve on the rudder too, but I like to keep things pretty linear.
