Are you using an ATI graphics card? If so, disable Catalyst AI.

Which exact graphics card do you have?

It would be easier to judge what will be necessary if I havea DxDiag file for your machine - see this thread for pointers on that: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44466

Also, if you attach a screenshot it will be easier to visualise exactly how the problem manifests for you.

i have twin radeon x1900 crossfire cards... (problem exists w and without crossfire actually running) version 8.14.0010.0647 drivers.

dxdiag doesnt show anything out of the ordinary, vs dx10 diage vs 6.00.6000.16386. vista ultimate 6.0 64bit, twin core 2 6700 overclocked at 3.2ghz (changing back to default speeds doesnt solve problem), 4094 sys ram, blacksharks installed on the 2 set 250gb sata's in raid 0. no errors found anywhere, all divers acounted for and working etc.

i tried a screen shot but blackshark apparently blocks it, all i get is a shot of my desktop background and icons, not the bs program running.

the screen has title bar on top, then all white to the bottom, with the center button and encircling buttons surrounding with icons in center, but no labels or picture in background like in multi window.

With the x1900 series of cards you will need to downgrade to the 8.12 driver suite. Later drivers have an incompatibility with those cards in it's OpenGL implementation, which launcher.exe uses.

Newer cards that encounter the issue usually solve the issue through disabling Catalyst AI, but the x1900 and x1950 usually end up having to use the 8.12 suite due to that driver issue.

Do note that if a driver rollback is not an option, you could find the DCSMax utility helpful since it allows you to launch directly into singleplayer missions. Multiplayer should work as normal since it doesn't use an OpenGL menu.

There might be issues in setting up your controllers, but all of it is technically possible to do through editing the associated configuration files with an application like Notepad++ (do not use regular Notepad for that).

Oh, but on the note of screenshots, you have checked the screenshots folder within your DCS:BS installation, right? It actually saves the files to that location rather than pasting it to the windows clipboard.

I'm not surprised, since those graphics cards have pretty much left support. If memory serves 9.3 were the last to have official support for that card and 8.12 was the last to have a reliable OpenGL implementation for those cards.

EDIT: Yup, they are in "legacy support" so I would not expect any new drivers to improve anything on them.

Unless you can find a driver and the Catalyst AI = Off that works for you, you might have to end up buying a new graphics adapter to solve your problem. Sorry.

didnt see the update... got the 9-11 driver set, no change.

you need to go back to an earlier driver.. try Catalyst 9.1, 9.3, etc..

and again, turn ai either off or to standard (lowest setting after off..).

Yeah, it is really important to note that those graphics cards are in the "legacy support" category since around 9.3. Do not expect a newer driver to do anything for you with those GPUs simply because ATI doesn't do updates for them in the driver suite.

8.12 is a safe bet. It is almost entirely guaranteed to remove this problem. And since your graphics card is in legacy support only you will not lose performance through this rollback.
