Vekkinho Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Hi all, I bought the stick from the title on Saturday for a few reasons, first, it wasn't expensive - cca 30€ and second and most important is IL-2 series that I play from time to time. I haven't installed software provided on a CD and I only mapped axis in the Il-2 controls setup for a quick try with WW-II aircraft presented in Sturmy and I must say it "feels" better with those aircraft than TM Cougar that I use with FC and DCS. Aviator is easier to handle due to Cougars heavy duty spring system and somehow more appropriate for WW-2 flightsims. It feels plastic but it's light and precise. Cougar and all it's buttons and switches somehow seem an overkill for IL-2 Sturmovik. This particular stick isn't being mentioned too often here at forums but I'd like to know does anyone have it and can you write a word or two on your experience with it! Thanks! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I picked one up a while back and I'm completely happy with it and its performance, although I use mine a bit differently. I modded mine so only the pitch axis could be moved and use it as a collective controller in Black Shark (a mod that anyone could do for about $5-10). Everything else is just extra buttons. Great stick for the asking price and great way to have an affordable collective controller without having to make your own or buy an expensive controller. HitchHikingFlatlander Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Thanks, my way of modding since I lack the skills and access to high end tools that others do! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
