Breakpain Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hi, I have Lock On and it works on Windows 7 64 bit very well. Because I am looking forward for Flaming Cliffs2, I had to buy a Flaming Cliffs1. My question is - is there anyone who plays Flaming Cliffs (1) on Windows 7 64 bit? I heard, that it only works on Vista ... probably Flaming Cliffs 2 will fix this - this is fo sure, I know ... But it could happen, that they will make FC2 as an one game, without any need to have Lock On and FC1, so FC1 will be usless if it at least doesn´t work on W7 ... I am not sure ... demo of FC1 doesn´t work when I tried .... So, question is simple - does anyone play Flaming Cliffs 1 on Windows 7 64bit? :pilotfly: Thank you.
Grimes Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 General rule of thumb, if software works in Vista it will work in Windows 7. I'm running the FC currently on Windows 7 64bit and it works fine. So the question is, why the demo doesn´t work  This rule "Vista=W7" is no true in every aspect, there are some differences, but in common, yes, I thought, this was an exception ... looks not and I have a problem somewhere .. .hm :( ... Thank you ;-).
Joe Kurr Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Have a look here for steps to install Flaming Cliffs 1.12 on Windows 7. The only problem I have at the moment are the random crashes, which seem to have something to do with my new graphics card. Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award

ATI 57xx or 58xx ? ;-) if it so, you are in deep trouble like the whole of custemrs ;-) .. ATI has serious problems with those card ... worldwide problems ... bunch of RMA ... ande they aren´t able to fix it.
Mugenjin Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 woot? TSMC just can't supply the market with enough chips since they had some problems with a new manufacturing process. The problem was a rather low supply of 58xx's. It's still hard to get a 58xx at a reasonable price. Don't know what you mean by saying that they're getting RMA'd.

That these cards from 5xxx series don´t work properly, they fall down, they stuck whole computer and so on ... bloody hell, it makes your computer into piece of crap :-( ... They hurried to much and made serious mistkaes in manufacturing process IMHO ... Here are some comments from custemors ... I am alsou one of the bud luck customers :( ... http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=124747&STARTPAGE=1&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear But this is topic probably for another thred, this is about FC, so sorry for my OT

(I see that you are in Europe, so maybe there is a problem there with getting video cards..) Some people recommended this card for me.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102857 SAPPHIRE 100282SR Radeon HD 5850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity - Retail $299.99 ============= But, I am inclined to buy from a maker with a longer warranty,, several do.. I didn't see any problems with shortages.. but I have not yet ordered a new video card..
