Good afternoon,

I am very new to this sim. I have a Saitek X45 joystick on Windows XP. This Saitek X45 has a throttle. My main problems (2) are I am unable to use the quick engine start. L + HOME (the real start up sequence is to complex for me) on any missions and campaigns. However, sometimes(there seems to be one anyway) in missions the engine appears to already be running. However, I cannot get any lift at all (this is for take off) even when I use me Saitek X45 throttle, it does not seem to increase power.

The aircraft simply trundles forward or back (this is caused by me using joystick) then it crashes off the Heli- Pad (hard stand) ! End of mission! I have tried using "PAGE UP" and "PAGE DOWN" for increased power...nothing again.

I hope you can help. So, many thanks in advance for your time and trouble.

Regards Mike Newton

PS: I have not down loaded the patch as I am not sure how to do this?

Not L + Home. Rather, [LWin] + [Home]

You need to Map your Saitek Throttle to the SIM Collective as per follows:

Just go to your Options/Controls/Axis Commands and clear the Flight Control Collective Block. Then hit 'ADD' and move the throttle to and fro - Should automatically allocate 'JOY Z'.

Download and install the 1.0.1c Patch before proceeding further -

Welcome to the Forums :)

Ps: Wrong Sub-Forum - Will probably be moved to the DCS Section shortly....
