Guest ruggbutt Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Has the procedure changed to record renders? I 've made a couple of movies (w/1.02) but when I choose the AVI function it crashes FC to desktop.

Guest ruggbutt Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Thanks for the quick reply. :) Does that mean I can't use Huffy anymore?

Guest ruggbutt Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I removed everything I could remove. No joy. I'll go back an restore an earlier hard drive image.
Guest ruggbutt Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 It's gonna take a complete OS install I guess. I removed everything I could and the AVI renderer still crashes. Is there any way you can patch the renderer to work w/other codecs like 1.02 did? I had no problems whatsoever w/it. You can't expect that none of us install codecs for Real Player, DivX and Quicktime.
Drakx Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Ive got the same problem i did a recording of the quick start mission for the 33 to show a friend but when it comes to recording avi it crashs to the desktop
paul2k12 Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Hello, I have had this same problem, Seems te HuffyUV codec doesn't work with the 1.1 addon. What you will need to do is do a simple search on Huffyuv and anything that comes up delete it. It will still be listed in your Video Codecs. Now start 1.1 and try to render a video it will work now but you will have to use another codec, I am currently using the Largarith Lossless codec. One thing though, The AVI recorder is perfect now it records any angle you want including th F11 view. Hope thid works Paul
Guest ruggbutt Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Yep, I have the SLK codec pack installed as well as DivX 5.2.1 and it's Huffy that's crashing the sim. I removed Huffy and I'm good to go. Do you have a link to the Largarith Lossless codec? Thanks for your help.
paul2k12 Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Hi Sorry for the late reply. I get mine from here http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lagarith_Lossless_Video_Codec.htm Just install as usual and it should work fine. Thanks Paul
Guest ruggbutt Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Thanks. I found one called ASLCodec and it works nice too.
hornet1a Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Confirmed:Huffy codec crashed the Lockon1.1 AVI maker Problem with "Huffy lossless codec" confirmed! The record AVI option did crash on my system. Problem fixed :-) After erasing "huffyuv.dll" and the huffyuv.ini" files from the Windows system folder the AVI maker now works. Hornet1a
