Downey Jr. Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 It appears one button on the ABRIS nav screen going to fpl and then choosing a waypoint if you press TO then it automatically wipes out all your original waypoints... now granted probably dont want to do that but it is so easy to accidently to hit that rather than wpl or whatever...sometimes during missions I accidently wipe out my flight plan... am I just a terrible BS pilot? dont answer that
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Yeah I've done that more than a few times, annoying isn't it? Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
PlainSight Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 If that happens, you must go to main menu and press "plan". Then press "activ". [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Downey Jr. Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 oh for real?! nice man thanks...im gonna try that... I need to do some hardcore training just like I did with Falcon a few years back hopefully Ill get there with BS
EtherealN Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Don't really need "hardcore" training - just do one system at a time. My DCS skills are not that good, but what I have crystal clear is that every single training flight is to test/practice/review/practice again a single system. Well, to be honest, from time to time, just for fun, I try to combat but ... :music_whistling::music_whistling:. Wow. What a hard sim. Cruz de San Andres First learn to fly. Then learn to fight. Downey Jr. Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 well hardcore training could still imply in-depth training on each system...hehe I think the deployment campaign does a good job so far of leading you in...the training videos help alot...the problem I have with the manual is that it doesn't account for variable conditions, possible reasons of failure or detail of common problems one would or could have... for example...starting up...reading the manual and I got the inevitable electric shutdown probably due to keeping on battery power before igniting the engines to keep systems running...who knows...the video training shows a much different startup than the manual does...and on top of that I still had to flip a few additional switches not shown. clearest example I have is the Alarm! mission in deployment...starting in pitch black under gunfire and you need to start the heli and get the hell out of there...and yes you could 'auto-start' with lwin+home but if you want to be a real BS pilot good luck using the manual to follow along to get up in the air.
