I'm working on an F-16 template, and was manually going through the whole thing, placing each of the thousands of little rivets, when I discovered that I have accidentally merged my Rivet layer with the background. However, because I was placing so many of them individually, I couldn't undo them with History, and there seems to be no other way of separating them.

Since I don't feel like placing all those damned rivets myself again, does anyone know how to split apart two layers? Or at least restore a previously saved configuration?

Just searched it...guess not. Wow. Do you know how much time/rivets I lost? Every single damned one. I wish ED would just release an F-16 template. I know I'm being irrational, but I am sooooooo.......'angry' wouldn't cut it even close.

I'm beyond angry at Photoshop, I'm beyond angry at Lock On and I'm beyond angry at Lockheed Martin for building their jets with so many damned rivets. :P

EDIT: Is there anywhere I can get an F-16 Template? All these details are making my head woozie, and it's just a 1024x1024 skin.

if its a white background you might want to try and "magic wand" them, if u get them selected, just copy and paste into a new layer.

Or

If its a white background just copy the layer, magic wand the white, and delete it. (then u should only have your rivets left)

You might want to add a screenie of your problem, not sure if i understand your problem

He has done that, but he did it on the wrong layer. Its a pain in the ass to do it again if you dont have too.

oh.. then the only thing to do is... start over..

I did...still no where near complete (or near my previous rivet count), but it's getting there. Luckily, my panel lines weren't erased.
