deadsmell Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) Hey Guys, Im having a problem in one of the A-10 campaign missions. Its the second or third mission. My task is to destroy some sort of "logistics center" located 7 clicks east of the abandoned airfield near waypoint 4. I have destroyed every enemy unit in the entire area, and im still not getting mission complete. I have flown this mission several times, and I keep failing because I guess I am not getting the "Logistics center". Im telling you though, every identifiable target in the entire area is destroyed. Entire towns have been leveled in an effort to find this dang "logistic center". I spent at least two hours (probably longer, maybe close to three) on this last attempt trying to figure this thing out, and the only enemy forces remaining in the area seem to be some sam sites that are located farther north. To my knowledge they are not mission critical targets, And ive been avoiding engaging them. Anyway its bounced me back to the previous mission in the campaign again because I cant figure what this "logistics center" is. Ive checked in the "Encyclopedia" in the game, and there is no building or vehicle called "logistics center". I checked out all of Beachav8r's posts on his campaign, but it looks like he had some different missions than my campaign. Also, "pointer" does not directly laze this target, he just tells you the general area where it is. Is there a time limit or something? If anyone can shed some light on this i would appreciate it. Edit: The campaign is awesome, id just like to progress to the next mission. Edited April 5, 2010 by deadsmell Dont let the smell get to ya...............
Trooper47 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) You Have to fly in really low over the directed 7kliks east of the abandond Airstrip, near waypiont 4, and you will see a bunch of trucks, this is the logistics center. Edited April 5, 2010 by Trooper47
deadsmell Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 Thanks for the reply, Yeah roger that, I nailed every target out there. Every fuel truck, every tank. everything. Theres even some more targets further east, and another group a bit north, and I destroyed all those two, but it never says mission complete. Did the mission give you a mission complete message? Ill try again later. Dont let the smell get to ya...............

deadsmell Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 You must have missed one of the four primaries. Thanks Wags, I tried using F-10 view to see if the targets were visible on the map, but they werent. Are they supposed to be? Because I have noticed that not all units are indicated on the map in F-10 view. In fact there seems to be alot of units that arent indicated on the map in F-10 view. ED Team Wags Posted April 5, 2010 ED Team Posted April 5, 2010 No I'd suggest enabling labels if you are having so much trouble. Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
deadsmell Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 lol, k thanks. Dont let the smell get to ya...............
deadsmell Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Hopefully in the future there will be more in depth briefings? Its something I have always felt was lacking in the lockon/DCS campaigns. A picture and a few sentences arent really much to go on. Sometime people like me, like to have a very specific idea of what im tasked with. There is even a mission I played last night that said my primary target is "tubes/self propelled artillery". Thats all fine and dandy, but a specific model of the target unit, seems like it would be in order as well. If it was clearly indicated what my target is, I could consult the the encyclopedia, get a picture of it, and have an idea of what im looking for. Not all of us know everything there is to know about all military hardware. :) Im not ashamed to admit it. Just a hopeful suggestion, thanks again. Dont let the smell get to ya...............
deadsmell Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Ok I see you opened the mission with the editor to show me those units. That never occurred to me . That works for me, I can get the information I need that way when im having trouble. THANK YOU for your help. :) Dont let the smell get to ya...............
StrongHarm Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I think 'MOBILE' logistics center would have helped me out a lot .. I too flattened the town looking for the building that's the logistic center... It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
TooTubular Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Haha, likewise. I was going willy nilly on buildings. :) Popped open the editor and all was easy. Though from now on, I think I'll try to devise a way to gather more intel without it being considered cheating. The difficulty in spotting targets paired with not know what exactly I'm supposed to be shooting at is surely a handicap that real life doesn't have. Or maybe we just need to be better aware of the jargon. :)

I don't know... if you talk to anyone who's operated in the theater of battle and say the word intel.. I bet you'll hear a long line of very bad language. Though I would imagine that they wouldn't task a 'pilot' on a mission without knowing if the target is a building or a truck.. I I do see your point. I understand that the U.S. military is overly picky about target declaration these days. Anyone here currently serving that can confirm this?
