bought Black Shark today and only problems

so what i can say now:

 

looks like the game itselfs will work fine.

 

only problem is this damned launcher.exe or ?

Yup, the "only" problem is that the launcher fails to browse the folder structure.

 

Multiplayer having it is no surprise, but that may just mean that it fails to call the --console, which the multiplayer.bat link doesn't need. Going to try that as well.

That wasn't it. :( (At least not in my Vista install)

 

I installed into C:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50, and the shortcut works. The shortcut also works if I remove the --console completely.

The funny thing is, if I put those marks "F:\DCS\Ka-50\bin\stable\Launcher.exe" --console, windows doesen't save them and return to F:\DCS\Ka-50\bin\stable\Launcher.exe --console

 

Might be his W7 a bit screwed or something? you can try to install in a path without spaces or "-".

 

BTW, W7 64 bit here.

btw. i tried to start the game as i read here in the forum someware in a dosbox with "C:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\stable\Launcher.exe" --console

 

then i get the error message cannot open.\BlackShark\BlackShark.lua : no such file or directory.

 

funny ... such a file is in the folder c:\eagle dynamics\ka-50\BlackShark\BlackSharl.lua size is 27.180 dated 05.05.2009

 

I get this is a mistype by your part right? I understand the file is blackshark.lua not blacksharl.lua

The quotation marks are most likely due to the space you have in "C:\Eagle Dynamics", this forces the quote marks to let the parser know that the path has not ended at C:\Eagle. But the exact same path worked for me on my Vista box, so it should work equally in 7.

 

To get an install without quotation marks, simply have no spaces in it, like:

C:\EagleDynamics\Ka-50

instead of

C:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50

 

Computers are a bit stingy about certain characters, slashes and spaces being some of them. But again - I failed to replicate the effect through this measure so I am sceptical that it is this. Another possiblity might be bad sectors on the HDD I guess, but the fact that you reinstalled once should (by odds) have avoided that. A CHKDSK might be worth doing though to eliminate that - but do that while sleeping since that can take some time.

And I could bet you big money it's going to be something glaringly simple, like it almost always is. The proverbial missing semicolon. :P

Have you tried to start the sim with the Multiplayer desk Icon, I believe it bypasses the launcher altogether.

 

Hope you get it sorted

 

OK you know DCS.exe runs!!

 

Now go to install directory find Launcher.exe.....

Send to desktop as shortcut

Edit Start in parameters to look simmilar to attachment below

 

Now run it twice, I got error first time I think

Nevermind the administrator thing - I just read through your thread in the german section and saw you had tested that.

in your suggestion picture, there was no "--console" ... so i did without.

 

tried to add it and removed it .... nothing .... after clicking the icon, 2 seconds later the error message about this ****ing (sorry) launcher. exe will appear

you have something to do with oleg maddox maybe ? i know him for many years and i remember former times 1c was something of his issues ?

ok ... forgot to metion, that my install directory is different from your one ..... mine is named eagle dynamics/ka-50 and yours is direct in ka-50 .

now got messages which told me "german download version makes problems, try to get a cd/dvd version". all german guys.

No error thats the way it is here. I didn't think I had to point that out. Preusse seems capable.

 

Sorry Preusse, Recently spent 2 weeks getting FreeFalcon5 to run. Problem with GUI interface AA settings & ATI Catalyst AI settings, still not 100% stable.

what i can tell you all now is, tjhat when i change the desktop resolution from 1600*900 to other resolutions, i sometimes can start the program without a "launcher.exe wont start anymore" error message.

 

 

the program itself wont start, but the error message is disapeared.

Your serial only activates the german one.

 

Recheck md5 on both setup.exe and data1.cab files.
