JG11Preusse Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Okai, the most obvious blunders I've seen was - and which you havent done, already asked you about those: - Someone overwrote their Blackshark.lua with Joystick configuration. - Someone installed extra LUA tools because they were editing some scripts. - Quite alot has edited their LUA/CFG files using notepad instead of "Notepad++" - NTFS/volume problems, chkdsk solved it. Had to reinstall BS after that on a working Drive (the previous files was broken since they installed before the disks were fixed). - Virus (reinstall of Windows was the only solution). - Other ATI mysteries, changing adapter or finding a working driver. - Anti-virus / Anti malware blocking some important files during install. - Other Windows mysteries. Also: - Early DCS:BS 1.0.1a patches may have problems with "Localized Windows versions", where you had to change all the Regional settings to "US/EN" to be able to play. This was fixed in later versions. Now thats about all the ideas I have. 1. Someone overwrote their Blackshark.lua with Joystick configuration 2. Someone installed extra LUA tools because they were editing some scripts. 3. Quite alot has edited their LUA/CFG files using notepad instead of "Notepad++" 4. NTFS/volume problems, chkdsk solved it. Had to reinstall BS after that on a working Drive (the previous files was broken since they installed before the disks were fixed). 5. Virus (reinstall of Windows was the only solution). 6. Other ATI mysteries, changing adapter or finding a working driver. 7. Anti-virus / Anti malware blocking some important files during install. 8. Other Windows mysteries 1. how this can happen ? ... only i use this notebook and after a fresh installation nothing works 2. no tool herew .. for what, i never was able to start it until now 3. maybe a lot people do this, i only wanted to use the game 4. chkdsk allready performed and as i tought before: "no problems" 5. you can 100% sure that this will be not the reason 6. changing adapter ????? are you serious ??? everything works perfekt ... only this 1 software dont 7. many german users told me, that antivir dont makkes any problems, they also toldd me which programms make problems 8. no idea .. maybe this all is guess guess guess guess ........ are also officials from the vendor or from the programmers of this peace of software are here ? i wrote an email many days ago to the bs support, diddnt got any answer until today. maybe they dont answer via email, because they idenbtified me here ... that will be absolute ok. im really pissed of and belive it or not, this is the first time in my life (means 45 years) that i engaged such problems. thx to all who tries to help andi
JG11Preusse Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Have you tried disable x-fi or fast-writes? In the end, if you don't want Vista, try W7 reinstall. yes i wrote this allready .. is disabled xifi, unplugged it without any change. fast writes disable option is not existant in my bios
Panzertard Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Preusse, dont worry - I gave you just some insight on "what I've seen" reagarding similar problems - you didnt have to answer them. :) They are just "food for thought" - an indication that there can be so many things that affects a game on a PC. I can understand your frustration - I thank you for being able to post here in a good tone even when you are angry. :) I hope there are someone else being able to come up with an idea that can solve your problem. Distiler Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Perhaps, with the upcoming compatibility patch for DCS:Ka-50 with FC2, the problem might be magically solved. Oh informatics! AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

If you have a hardware problem, we will reinstall your PC with original Toshiba Images". So you can safely test other drivers - don't expect everyone of them to work, but if you know how to use safeboot and clean it out again later, then you may be fine. The mind is like a parachute. Distiler Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Well, yes, you can install latest catalyst ati drivers from amd/ati website and monitor gpu temp (you have gpu-z installed). AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Distiler Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Probably from http://sites.amd.com/us/underground/Pages/underground.aspx 1 AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
JG11Preusse Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Probably from http://sites.amd.com/us/underground/Pages/underground.aspx there are also the mobile card drivers or only the desktop ones ?
topdog Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I'm not too familiar with ATI drivers (having had some bad experiences in the past, I've kept my distance even though more recent hardware may be completely different). So as I was suggesting to a friend in a gaming group that his own problems might be solved by using a different version of the ATI drivers, another friend in the group (who is quite knowledgeable on business PC hardware) had this to say. I thought it might be worth sharing for your situation of ATI + Laptop too: There are no "recentish" drivers for mobile graphics cards when it comes to ATI. You only get what the manufacturer gives you... however you use: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php Then download the most recent driver and use that tool on it and install them. Isn't something I can comment on having tried myself of course, but I know the level of skill/experience of the person making this advice so I would definitely consider it. JG11Preusse Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 after all this driver install, deinstall, install others and so on, i tried lock on fc2 again, to be sure i dont messed up my system now .... everything works fine (still) :)
JG11Preusse Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 is it possible to get a cd/dvd version of this game instead the download version ????? heard now from some people, that the downloadversion makes much trouble. who can answer this question ? ...... emailsupport is never answers something, but maybe the reason can be for this issue, that they found me here with my problems ???
EtherealN Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 There is no difference between DVD and Download. They are entirely identical, except that the DVD version delivers the installer via DVD instead of download (which is convenient for people with capped connections or dialup.) If people had issues with the download and not the DVD this would be caused by connection issues. JG11Preusse Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 The individual who would most likely respond to your e-mail has posted in this thread. ;) ah ok ... that was what i thought before, but was not sure. so i can say, that the support is exellent. no idea what i can try tomorrow ...... i know your suggestions will also go to an end after all this tries and testings. no joke .... this is the first game im not able to use in my whole computer carieer :) i engaged some problems with some pieces of software, but bs tops everything :) i guess the last one i engaged problems (meant real problems, like i have now) was with a10-cuba ..... its long time ago and i cant really remember what the problem was, but i guess i wasnt able to use a joystick with this game. all in all i use computers since c64 . ... upgraded to amiga, tuned amiga, pc 386 derviate with cyrix cpu and on and on and on. until i started to use notebooks instead of desktops, i build my computers myself. not the first 2 ones, but afterwards all of them. if someone of my friends, my neighbours, theis friends, famaily or colleagues ..... everyone came to me to ask to solve their computer problems. ok ..... after windows 98 i stopped to get informed in time. now i arrived at widows 7 , after i had win xp for a long time and then change to vista 64 for a short time, due to the system change to this notebook. greetings an a good night for today andi
EtherealN Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Don't give up entirely though. While we may be out of ideas, it is possible that the coming patch somehow fixes it. Might even be likely, since FC2 (which is newer) works on your machine and said patch is to make DCS:BS compatible with FC2 as well as introduce several modifications made for FC2 (new sound engine and so on). Sadly I don't have a release date - the patch is undergoing testing to ensure that things work as they should. But hopefully it should be relatively soon.
