Here is this thing since FC 1.12 times: you get a new skin, install it with modman, and it overrides some current skin, and you don't even know which one. Worse, now you don't even have the preview window.

Can someone explain how to add skins without overriding others, that means with unique names?

If you install skins with modman you should have no problem identifying which one is to be replaced...there's the CDDS browser that allows you to check skin names and numbers. You can also choose which one you want to replace by renaming new one.

Adding new skin to a list of camos can only be done with new 3D model and IIRC in Su-25(T) case! You cannot add new skin to default 3D model of a MiG, Flanker, Eagle and Hog. You can only replece one of the existing (default) skins.

For instance, there's a Damgarten MiG-29S skin, I replaced it with Erebuni AB skin by Valery (Blue Fulcrum) as Damgaten camos and GvIAP exist no more with RuAF!

Sure I use modman, but:

1. I have problems with the 3GO Su-27 model

2. By CDDS browser you mean the CDDS explorer? I haven't found where it shows which files are replaced.

3. Overall is very chaotic: I don't understand at all what modman does with the skins.

Some are CDDS some are not..

If the rez of the texture is somehow different it says it will store them in the temp file, it doesn't matter because they won't show up either way

I uninstalled a skin and in game it still shows up, where the ones which are installed don't show up..

1. What problems?

2. Yes, explorer!

3. Skins placed in Temporary folder will override those compressed to CDDS format, the skin you uninstalled was was probably .CDDS but also in a JPEG format, check Temporary folder and delete skins you want to remove.

i'm starting to see some light!

I had a skin which was similar to one already included with the 3d model and when I thought I was uninstalling it, I was still there because included.

I understand how to see which skin gets replaced.

Now I still have to find out how to modify a skin to replace the one I want.

thanks for the support Vekkinho.

You can simply write down the name of default skin you wish to replace. Next thing is to assign the same name to the one you like and want to have.

Place it in bazar/temptextures! When you're sick & tired of it simply delete it form that folder to have default one back!

Glad I could help!
