mac495 Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) Replaced my cpu and didn't remember to deactivate. Tried a reinstall but no joy. Seem to be stuck between deactivating and activating. Sent email to support but haven't heard anything yet. Ideas? Edited May 2, 2010 by mac495
EtherealN Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Have you tried running protect.exe? (C:\Games\LOFC2\bin\x86\stable\ ) That should give you manual options. mac495 Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) Oops, shoulda mentioned this is for Blackshark Yep just tried that and server rejeted it,need a reactivation code it says Edited May 2, 2010 by mac495
EtherealN Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Which version of BlackShark? Sounds like vanilla 1.0.0. If so, update it to 1.0.1c If you did not de-activate, you should not re-activate. Then you should activate. The difference is that the former wants the deactivation code and thereby does not cost an activation, the second does not want a deactivation code but does cost an activation. mac495 Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 Thanks for the help, sorry to sound like an ass but thats how it goes sometimes. The rub is no reply from support but oh well, just will uninstall and tell squadies about the problems. I see a new apache sim on the horizon anyways.....
EtherealN Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Have you checked your spam filters? If I had a penny for every time people say "no-one replied to my e-mail" only to then see a "oh it was filtered"... ;) As for not doing registry edits for a DRM - if your registry gets problems here, then it is very likely to get problems with other things as well or already have them. That's regular system maintenance and I'd worry about total system health more than an individual program's ability to run if I had issues that looked registry-related. On troubleshooting - if you are not prepared to troubleshoot, the only thing support can give is you a shotgun-approach 500-item bullet list of possible causes and possible resolutions, 499 of which are likely wrong and a complete waste of your time, since they were not given information that would narrow the issue down. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
