Mirtma Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 When I press PgUp, the yellow stick on the back left side looks like it's locked. Is it OK that way or is there another key to unlock the position of that? EtherealN Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Not sure what you mean by it being locked - you mean is in not moving as an axis? If so, that is indeed correct - you press PgUp twice to set the throttles to automatic. Mirtma Posted May 3, 2010 Author Posted May 3, 2010 If you look at it (yellow stick), you'll see some horizontal wire. When you press PgUp, yellow stick goes a bit up (to that wire) and down again. It looks like it has some mechanical lock. English is not my native language, so it's hard to describe... sry Gigabyte Z490 Gaming X | i5 10600K@4700 | 32 Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | Gigabyte Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11G | MONITOR IIYAMA 24,5" LED LCD @ 1920 x 1080 | Windows 11 | Saitek X-55 Rhino | TrackIR 5 Pro
EtherealN Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 That's normal operation, yes. Operating the throttles is solely to put them into the right mode and then you let the EEG handle them. (PgUp twice for Auto, which is your normal mode, one higher and you are on Emergency power which is an option if you lose one of the engines. After that the automated system handles them.) Frederf Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 It's a catch or a resistance to using the MAX position. There are 4 positions to the throttle: IDLE, GOV FAIL, AUTO, and MAX. The catch is between AUTO and MAX since 99% of the time you want to be in AUTO or lower. MAX is for emergency situations so it takes a special deliberate effort. It's kind of like the afterburner detent on a fighter jet in that it's a tactile way of asking the pilot, "Are you REALLY sure?" 1
