sweinhart3 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Do the real jets have differential braking. Theres only 1 command in the game that applies to wheel brakes so I cant assign it to my pedals. In Blackshark I understand the need for differential brakes isnt really there. Fighters I know can turn the nose wheel much more than typical general aviation planes. If they dont have diff braking, are the wheel brakes still applied through the pedals and is equal pedal force still needed? golfsierra2 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Usually, wheel brakes are apllied symetrically by pushing both pedals at the same time. Steering is achieved by pushing only one pedal, this affects the nose wheel. kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
mvsgas Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 It depends on the aircraft. In the F-16 you can use differential braking, but is not something that pilot do intentionally and there no need for it. Sometime the pilots do differential braking because they press the top of the pedal while turning, but is accidentally. Also Nose Wheel Steering (NWS) is dependent on the aircraft. F-16 can turn around 30 degrees Left or right (give or take) while F-18 can turn past 90 degrees IIRC To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

TeeJay82 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 WTB diff brakes... my floor rudder needs 2 more axis to assign :P
