Zapperman 100 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) After enjoying LOMAC & Flaming Cliffs for the last seven years I purchased FC2 the other day. I have only noticed two problems with the game: aircraft require a steady back pull on the stick or they will fly into the ground and the joystick is very squirrely compared to Flaming Cliffs. I'm using a Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X. Thank you for any help on this. Edited May 11, 2010 by Zapperman 100
EtherealN Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Sounds like a trim/calibration issue. Have you verified that your axes are getting read correctly both in Windows and by the Axis Tune utility in the in-game control setup? Zapperman 100 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Thanks for your reply. I have gone through Axis Tune without result. Interestingly the trim command for up and down (.+RCtrl, ;+RCtrl) does not work, however the trim command for left or right rudder works fine. Please understand that there are none of these problems with Flaming Cliffs.
51GRIZZLY Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Are you using the programming software from thrustmaster or do you use the ingame settings. if you use the first i can't help If you use the second you must be aware of that you have to assign all settings for each plane individually in the options menu and not like in FC where one setting goes for all.
Zapperman 100 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Thrustmaster has no calibration software for the T Flight HOTAS that I can find. It just uses Windows' game controllers function to test axis and buttons. I also tried another joystick (a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) and got the same results. Something appears to be wrong with the pitch axis and as I said earlier, the pitch trim command on the keyboard for up or down does not work while rudder trim works fine.
G3 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) manually edit the config/producer file set ffb = false as for the "very squirrely" feel try edit the ingame axis "curves" to suit your liking. Edited May 14, 2010 by G3
