Using a Joystick Axis to change Horizontal & Vertical View?

I'm trying to use an axis based POV hat on my G940 to look around the cockpit as you would with the mouse. Unfortunately, a big chunk of controls in the Axis Controls portion of options are reserved only for the mouse.

 

Is there some sort of alternative that will achieve the same end or am I going to be forced to use crappy Absolute controls with my joystick?

Not familiar with the G940 software, but I imagine there must be some way to make the POV axes emulate a mouse?

Unfortunately not.

You can't use an absolute joystick with a relative control. The mouse is a relative instrument without a center.

 

I suppose what you want is a point that can be "nudged" around by the joystick and then stay there when the joystick is neutral. Sort of a "camera velocity control."
