DVD version purchased last year..

 

Have re installed today, box nice and tidy, DVD ok, matrox sheet nice and clean, Track IR sheet likewise..Can I find the manual.. Can I heck..

 

Is there anyway I can find my key or is it stored anywhere on line for me to recover (or on my hardrive though I now have win7 though my old xp is still on a dual boot)

 

Dont know if it helps but I was posting when I first bough it with screenshots etc..

If you go back to XP where it is activated, run "Protect.exe" in the X:\DCS - Black Shark\bin\stable folder. Select "Activate or Deactivate". You should be able to see your Activation key. Get a pen and paper and keep it safe :)

Its not installed on xp anymore.. I have slowly been emptying that drive over the last couple of months in order to loose the dual boot.. Would it still be in the registry? (though I think that got cleaned out as well)

No luck.. Theres nothing in the old xp registry (probably as it was cleaned out in the last few months after BS wasuninstalled)..

 

Would my serial not have registered somewhere when I first (and only) activated it..

Your serial would have registered at the StarForce system, yes, but for your privacy it doesn't register information about you. It only registers that Serial Number X has been activated for hardware profile Y.

Which wouldnt really help then as my hardware profile has changed, I used to hate Steam now I can see its benefits LOL..

 

Wouldnt it make sense for the retail versions to also register onto the DCS site as well.. I realise its my fault for loosing the thing (or more likely the lady of the house, as the manual was probably left out for reference and turned into recycling) but it does seem to be avoidable, if I buy other products on REtail that eg go to steam, it registers them to steam forever for me..

 

Also.. am I then correct in my last post, Is my copy now worthless.. Do I have to re order..
