Snacko
Does anybody have any Tricks or Tips on placing vehicle columns on roads? When I place a convoy of vechicles and set their waypoint to be on the road, quite often when they snap to the road they are in the wrong order, or bunched up. And this seems to cause problems where sometimes they will acutally just stop moving and sit bunched up on the road by a bridge. I will setup a convoy with a few cars in front, then some trucks, then a AAA, and then several tanks following. When I set the waypoint to be on the Road, they snap to the road in the backward order of the direction they are going! The first vehicles will be at the back, and the tanks will be at the front. How do I fix this? Do I manually have to move each vehicle around? Other times, after I have a convoy setup, if I move the first waypoint where the objects are, then when they snap to the new location on the road they will be out of order, all mixed up. And often all bunched up in a pile. And I have to manually select each one, look at it's number in the name, and sort them back in the correct order. And again, when I am zoomed out, sometimes I try to select the entire column, but somehow only grab one vehicle, and end up moving it, instead of he entire column. For some reason it often seems to be the AAA object. These problems happen quite often. And fixing them on each convoy takes a lot of time. Are their any tricks to doing this? Here is an example of placing a Convoy Template that I saved. Both waypoints 1 & 2 are 'On Road', and just placing it on the map it has the AAA off to one side, and it is 'not' on the road as you can see: So, I just click the first waypoint to have it snap to the road and it does this every time!!!! Some are separated and the rest are all bunched up in the wrong order! The column should 'stay in order' and 'face the direction' of the second waypont, right?? :helpsmilie: Thx, Snack Snack Officer Intel I9-10850K (OC @ 5.0ghz) │ 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 │Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24gb - ҉ - Blackshark Cockpit Trainer - ҉ - ♣ Thread | ♥ Download
nomdeplume
It doesn't matter what is shown in the editor. If their first waypoint is "On road" they'll be in an orderly column on the road when the mission starts. The order is dependent on their order in the group, i.e. unit #1 will be first, unit #2 second, etc, regardless of what order you drag them into in the mission editor. The only time the editor placement of the units matters is if they're set "off road" any have only one waypoint. In that case the group will be stationary and each unit will be at the place it's positioned in the editor, facing the direction that unit is set to. The other modes all have the units in the appropriate formation at the start of the mission, regardless of what the editor shows.
Snacko
Good to know. So, dragging and moving individual vehicles while placed on a road does nothing... Thanks for the answer.
