PVI Waypoint Order ?!

Hello,

 

I have a problem concerning order changes in my pvi 800 (and concerning my bad english)

 

I have programmed 6 waypoints and i wanted to change the order of navigation.

In the manual they say:

 

1. switch to OPER, press WPT (green light off)

2. press WPT (green light on) and enter the number of the new first Waypoint.

3. confirm with ENTER

4. do so with the rest of the waypoints.

5. Finally press WPT (light off) to save to navigation computer.

 

6. press WPT again (green light on) and you should see the number of the new saved first waypoint.

 

BUT: I see no such number. The WPT Button is bright green, but no numbers nor coordinates.

 

Anyone there who could help me out here ?

If I understand you correctly you are trying to change the order of WPs. I think what the manual is telling you is how to enter new co-ordinates. I don't think you can reorder the existing ones unless you first write down all the lat and long values for the existing WPs then follow the steps to enter them in the revised order. I think what you are doing is inadvertently deleting them.

Sorry, my mistake, I just read the following passage in the manual

Changing the WP sequence If you wish to change the WP sequence or add a new WP in the current route, the following steps are required:

1. Set the PVI mode selector to the “РАБ” (Normal operation) position.

2. Set the “ЗК-ЛЗП” (Desired Heading – Desired Track Angle) switch on the Autopilot panel (right side panel) to the “ЗК” (DH) position.

3. Press the “ППМ” (WP) push-button on the PVI.

4. Using the PVI keypad, select the WP number selected as initial. After doing so, the number of the pre-programmed WP is displayed on the Waypoint display.

5. Press the “ВВОД” (Enter) button and the initial WP is loaded in the PNK.

6. Repeat this procedure for the rest of the WPs in the new sequence.

7. After inputting the last WP, press the “ППМ” (WP) push-button again. The WP sequence will then be saved in navigation computer memory.
