multiplayer questions

i tried jumping into multiplayer for the 1st time and had no luck,so i have a few questions if anybody can help.

1.i did a search for games availble and only found 3,only 1 of them wasn t coop so i tried joining and it said i needed a password so i couldn t join.is there a certain way to get better results for games to choose from that i could join.

 

2.how do you know when somebody joins your game.

 

3.when i created my own game and started it only find that is was sim mode.can you change to game mode some how because i still can t figure out why my bird keeps going backwards in sim mode.

 

4.is there a free for all game type or is it only ctf,4vs4 and 8vs8

to 1. It seems like you don't patched your software. After you installed the patch 1.0.2 you will find more servers.

 

to 2. It is shown in the chat in the left-top corner

 

to 3. Nobody is fliing arcade mode online (or I don't realised it). So all missions you will find online are sim mode. But you can set this in your own missions. Open your mission in the missioneditor and set the game opitons by yourself.

 

to 4. There are all type of games out there. But moste are coop.

If your helicopter's drifting backwards, it means you have to apply forward pressure on the cyclic stick. It's normal for the helo to drift back when the stick is centered. You can (and should) use trim to get the stick to stay where you want without the need for constant pressure.

which patch do i download http or ftp?

don t i have do a clean install or something like that.i downloaded the 1st and just copyed over the game files but i don t know the steps i have to take for the 2nd patch.is there somewhere i can look to see how to install,how do i know the first patch is installed correctly

- ftp, http, whatever. Every source is good as long as you use the links from the official site.

- do a clean install. The latest patch does not need any previous patches. It's cumulative.

i read in a post that the patch changes some stuff to russian and what do you mean clean install.will this take up one of my activations and what about my logbook and progress.

 

sorry for asking so many questions,this is my first pc game since the commadore 64

Deactivate program (deactivating gives you another activation)

Backup your input directory and your players.lua file and anything else.

Uninstall

Install 1.00

Install 1.02

Optional, make a whole directory copy of the entire game untouched

Put your backups back in place

Activate and play
