help - upaded drivers and game freezes

hi. i recently went to update the driver on my ATI 4770 card and now FC 2 seems buggered.

 

it loads ok, but when the mission starts up i hit pause/break to start and nothing happens. i can cancel the game Ok, but can never start my mission.

Roll back your driver and see if the game loads sometimes the video driver is the fault of the game freezing...happens to most video's card not just ATI...:music_whistling:

thing is all my other games seem to be working.

 

just FC not. as i say, the game works to the point of actually playing the mission, but when it asks me to hit pause/break to start, nothing happens.

 

is there a chance i'm doing something monumentally daft?

Maybe far-fetched, but have you tried to assign a different key for starting the game ?

I was just thinking about a problem with your keyboard driver/setup, that may need one of the DLLs replaced by your new video card driver.

The Pause/Break button or to be more precise the command is of a different nature than other keyboard commands.

 

Just give it a try, you won't ruin anything.
