trollspirit Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Hey guys, I know I'm trying to do something not really efficient, but well, here's my bug : I have a MacBook Pro running OSX snow leopard. I have Vmware Fusion installed I have a french Windows 7 virtual machine running on this VMware I installed DCS Black shark on this W7 virtual machine, without patches. Everything went well. once installed, I tried to launch DCS by double clicking on the desktop icon, and I got an error (see print screen attached) wich says (if i may translate to english) : Launcher.exe : Application Error Exception Division by zero (0xc0000094) happened in application at address 0x02c87796 Click on ok to end application Any ideas? Maybe my VMware is not well set up? do I need an internet connection in the VM? I searched the forum but couldnt find any answers. thanks.
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 (edited) I'm fairly certain VMware can't do 3D stuff at all (hence no windows Aero). So BS won't work regardless of that error. If you install Win7 on a separate partition and dual boot, you may have more luck. trollspirit Posted June 18, 2010 Author Posted June 18, 2010 hey, Vmware does handle 3D on FUSION3 (and aero is working) I know this VM thing is not really the best option, but I want to try to make it run, see how it goes, and if it's a total failure (my bet) then move to another laptop with a fresh w7 install. I'm trying to install the 1.0.1c patch... will see...
trollspirit Posted June 18, 2010 Author Posted June 18, 2010 failure : the patch now tells me there a VM installed and that "please unistall the virtual machine and try again" :megalol: duh. :pilotfly: Well i will try that on a fresh install on a separate laptop then
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 You are correct about the 3D, I never knew about Fusion 3. That's interesting, pity you didn't get it to work. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

AlphaOneSix Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I'm running VMWare 3.1, and I just launched DCS:BS 1.0.2 and the launcher worked fine. Not that it does any good...as soon as I tried to launch a mission, I got a pop-up window that says: "An attempt to use a virtual PC is detected. Please close all PC emulators and try again." And the only options were to Exit or Report Error. So I'm guessing that VMWare and/or Parallels is a no-go. I can confirm, however, that BS (and A-10C) run great so far on my MacBook Pro under bootcamp.
