As many of you know, my computer is not exactly fitting to play most modern games. Anyway, I won't get into the whole story but there is this game on Steam (BattleFront 2) that causes trouble for some people but sometimes after a driver update, it works. So, will updating my drivers help FC 2 be any better on my computer. Also, um...does anybody know how to update drivers? This is from a different forum addressed to me:

Try going to ATI's website and update your drivers.

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML

Also update your drivers for your Realtek card, as this was causing issues for me as well and should resolve it if not.

http://www.realtek.com/downloads/dow...&GetDown=false

Then go into your Sound Control Panel and make sure to RIGHT CLICK in a blank area and click SHOW DISABLED DEVICES and enable Stearo Mix (it's under the Record Tab), if that didn't work, try enabling all Realtek devices.

My specs are:ATI Radeon HD 3200 Integrated and AMD Phenom 2 X4 quad core processor and Windows 7 home prenium 64-bit.

Also, when I find the 3200 series update site, it has like, 6 downloads. I don't know which one to get.

Sorry this is so long but everybody here is so smart.:)

I have a similiar graphics chip on my board (integrated)

Hate to break it to you, but you can't really play Lock On with it. Not even sure it would start unless you went into the config and made it look like pong.

Not aware of your financial situation, but a good vcard that would play LFC2 well would not be that expensive.

Good Luck.

Go to Device manager and tell me what chipset it is. Then I can search for your latest driver. Most likely the generic driver will work fine, but why take a chance.

Also your motherboard manufacter will probably have that latest driver/info.

Update!: I (hopefully) updated my ATI driver correctly.(When I tried to uninstall the old one, it said it didn't uninstall correctly but whatever) Anyway, just wanted to tell you so you don't have to tell me how to do it.

Actually, if it matters, in my first link where it shows you the how-to vids, in the last one that teaches you how to install the new driver, everything that happenes after about 3:05(accepting terms and agreements) and after that doesn't happen for me. I don't know if that's good or not.

Oh, and I think I found the Realtek things.

Audio Driver Version: 6.0.1.5942

DerectX Version: DirectX 11.0

Audio Controller: HD Audio

Audio Codec: ALC888S

Which one do I get? And do I just download/install them or have to delete the old ones?

Also, I was trying to uninstall my old ATI driver but it said it didn't uninstall properly. Anyway, I tried installing the new driver. In my first link, there was a vid(part 4) showing how to install a new driver. If you watch that video, accepting the terms and everything after that (starts at about 3:05) did not happen for me. Also, the similarly looking part(two uninstall progress bars) on the uninstalling vid(part 3) did not happen. Should I be worried?

I gave you specific links to both drivers, not much more than that I can do your you.

You can try driver sweeper, it will uninstall both ati and realtek drivers, after you have done that you can try installing the new files I gave you. I didn't watch your videos.

DriverSweeper:

This is not really a hard process. Clean old drivers with drivercleaner, install new drivers by clicking yes all the way through.

Wow that was wierd. The link you gave me for the Realtek driver first led me to the website containing multiple links. After I clicked it again, it led me to the download. Anyway, I'm trying the stuff now.

Do I have to reboot after using driver sweeper to clean ATI and Realtek?

Okay, after I restarted my computer, everything is resized and doesn't look like it used to. The windows are a different size and when I scroll or move a window, it leaves the image for a second. I don't think this is normal

Yeah, actually I think I messed up. Can I restore the old AtI driver or something? Also, I can't start up Lock On. Will a system restore work?

after you use driver cleaner you have no driver so that is why screen reverts to different res.

Stop spamming. Just follow my directions and you will be fine. I see you have other thread open regarding your computer.... perhaps you should get your gear in order.

Yeah, I cleaned my drivers, then updated and everything. Still didn't work. I even tried twice. And FYI I have 3 threads regarding my computer Mr. Smartypants!
