alien33 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I have a new pc now and have not used Lockon gold (boxed version) for a while now. I have just reloaded it but its asking me for registration. If I only load the first disc I can use it! but not If I load the second disc. I can only find the disc box(2discs) and the get started guide. I know I registered this product the first time around. Is there any way of finding the serial no' on this site or the main site. I have had the house upside down searching for the manual that must have the number on it. I want to upgrade to lockon 2 eventually. Please help. Paul
159th_Viper Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Disc version of LockOn Gold will not have a serial # as it requires a weekly disc-check - Only the download version has the serial #. In your instance you will accordingly not have a serial to begin with. As to why it is prompting you to enter a serial, I would have no idea, sorry. Will only do so with a downloaded version. Might be a good excuse to upgrade to FC2. Trust me - it's one helluva improvement over it's predecessor :) Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? alien33 Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 Thanks for the reply. I've just read on one of the forums that it is a problem with the Evolved games disc distribution.I have emailed them but I'm not holding my breath. Also I run win 7 and starforce does not like it, I have updated starforce but its made no difference. I don't have a problem with Black shark starforce, i'm baffled.
alien33 Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 Also is there an upgrade price for version 2 or do I have to pay full price for it?
EtherealN Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 FC2 is a separate product to FC1. (Both can be installed at the same time and will not conflict.) Unfortunately this means that there's no "upgrade". However, it does mean that you do not need to have FC1 set up to run FC2 - you only need vanilla LOMAC or newer. So as long as the vanilla LOMAC installs (If memory serves there's no protection suite on it) you'll be fine. I am fairly certain I have seen this sometime before though, but I cannot recall what caused it. You could look at extending your search to also look at Vista topics for FC1 - most (not all) of issues that 7 has with legacy versions of software are equal to issues Vista had with it. The reason why DCS:BS protection does not conflict but your FC1 protection does is that DCS:BS uses a new-generation of StarForce (the ProActive suite), made specifically for the modern Windows versions. FC2 uses the same system as DCS:BS. 636_Castle Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Back before FC2, I had LO Gold too. I noticed if you held down the control button while the sim was launching, it'd pop up an activation code box from SF. This was a problem when I'd be on TeamSpeak, because my PTT button was control. So just to say...if you're launching the sim, don't press anything on your keyboard until the main screen is up. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!
alien33 Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Thanks for the replys guys. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled, now when it loads it says starforce installed correctly reboot to complete yes or no, if I say yes it just reboots if I say no it kicks me out. I think I'll just give up for now, Thanks anyway.
