sneddz Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Hey guys, I remember in lockon fc1 the fire changed between the russian and us fighter gets and it took no time to work that out. However for the life of me I cannot fix it in FC2! I can shoot a cannon when i bind fire to joy 1 however it wont fire a missle. Now I did all the training missions for lockon 1.1 or something and im well aware how to lockon and its telling me to shoot so i cycle the weapons and bang boom nothing....bar cannon.. So i fiddled around with everything to do with fire and once i was able to shoot off a missile however it was in the campaign and it was somthing like control + space...i had to tap that combo about 8 times while my voice over is pleading with me to shoot. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and I have had no problems with any other keyboard shortcuts (i landed the su33 on the aircraft carrior from memory of the key's to press (clear weather im not boasting haha) Cant drop bombs / anything in any other air craft. Please help guys! Intel Q6600 4gig DDR2 800mhz 8800 Ultra Logitec Attack 3 USB joystick. Joystick worked fine in lockon, tested before I uninstalled. Posted here because I couldnt find the support forum in English - Sorry!. Thanks Again!
element1108 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I don't know if you've tried, but you have to hold down the fire button for a few "beats" before the missile comes off the rails. It's a new and more realistic feature because apparently (I haven't flown a real jet) that's how fighters FOX their weapons. Also just make sure you have launch authorization...which I'm sure you haven't overlooked. Try holding down the fire button for a few seconds, see if that doesn't help.
Axel40 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 If you're in American Aircraft you have to bind a separate key/button to fire missiles. Your cannon button will not fire your Mav's, Sidewinder's etc.
nomdeplume Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Yep this is a standard test so the forum regulars can determine the people who read the manual before posting on the forum. ;) For the American aircraft, the keybinding is called "Weapon Release" which I think defaults to RCtrl+Space or similar. And you have to hold it down for a few 1-2 seconds for most weapons. For Russian aircraft they only have the one fire button, but you still need to hold it down for missiles and the like.
sneddz Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 Hey guys, Game is working sweet now, loving the changes they have made from the original lockon series, definatly a more solid release! I spent alot of time doing the training and re learning the controls and functions of the different aircraft before I jumped into the campaign this unfortunately is where I have struck a problem! When I go to create a new campaign (because none are listed) it gives me an error (which i will type down here shortly) Same goes when I try to restart a campaign....I looked in my campaign folder and there seems to be a few campagin files along will all the missions which are playable using open mission. The error seems to be a DCS error of some discription and I have tried playing around with it (even making my own campaign) however I cannot fix it. I would prefer not to reinstall the game as I have spent along time changing the game to suit me. Error: Error ....\blackshark\modules\me_logbook.lua:1407: Attempt to index local campaign (A nill value) stack traceback: Me_logbook me_campaign Ect ect ect ect Lists about 5 files in the black shark folder... Is there an update to correct this issue?
nomdeplume Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 What do you mean no campaigns are listed? You should have 7 campaigns listed in the campaigns screen accessible from the top center button in the main menu (with the 1.2.1 patch). If you don't have any listed then something is wrong with your install. Does the Logbook button on the main menu work or does throw errors as well? It does sound like you might need to re-install. Where did you install the game to, and what version of Windows are you running? If it's Vista or Win7 then it's better to install outside of C:\Program Files. Have you done any customisation/tweaking aside from setting up your controllers and graphics settings? The key/joystick bindings are stored under config\input\aircrafts in your FC2 directory, so you can back up those files before uninstalling, and then put them back once you've reinstalled so you don't have to reconfigure them all over again.
bobdude11 Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I just bought the LockOn Platinum Pack ...- I have a TrackIR 5 and this was one of the titles - YouTube videos looked REALLY good, so I found it at Target. I have to say: I am absolutely AMAZED at the quality of this sim. I love a good combat flight sim and none I have played have measured up to Falcon 3 or 4 - until now!! This is the absolute cool and this thread helped me understand the problem I was having not being able to launch missiles - now I am absolutely lethal (in single player - probably just meat on the table in multi ...) - in any event, now that I know I have to hold the release wepon for a second or two, I am thoroughly loving this one! Thanks to all on here that answered this question - you have justified my purchase - I might even get the A-10 and BlackShark sims ... I'm saving my pennies ... :) :pilotfly::thumbup:
Pyroflash Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I will get the A-10 and BlackShark sims ... I'm saving my pennies ... :) :pilotfly::thumbup: There, fixed it for you If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
