71st_Mastiff Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Hi if your familiar with the A10A quick mission I have been playing around with the tools in the mission maker. I was wondering how do I make a trigger zone for is the BTR-80s or the other groups make it to their last wypt? I would like to make the other groups spawn if the other is true they make it to there wypnt. Does this make sense? :book: "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes. nomdeplume Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Place a zone at the destination, big enough for the group to fit into. Let's call it "Y" for now. Then you'll need to make a trigger that says "if unit X is in Y, activate other group". Unfortunately there's no "any member of group is in zone" condition, so if you want to make it so the new group will be activated if any member of the group reaches the destination, then you have to make a new trigger for each vehicle in the group. Blindspot'd mission editor mod adds a "Duplicate" button for triggers which makes this slightly less tedious.
71st_Mastiff Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 thank you I just wasted $30.00 dollars on the FC2 flight manual and there is nothing in it on map editing. or anything about making mission with triggers so disappointed about that. Distiler Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Flight manual is just that, a flight manual. For UI things, like mission editor, you have the gui manual at /doc folder. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Ripcord Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I am new to this sim but learning it, after building a lot of 0missions for another Matt Wagner sim. Here is an alternative technique that might be more practical. Maybe just put a friendly hummer or a transport truck or something there at the objective where your trigger zone would have been. Put them right in the path of the enemy units, right at their final wp as you mentioned. If those enemy BTR-80s reach that objective at their final waypoint, they will almost certainly blow the heck out of that one hummer or truck. All you do then is check to see if the hummer is alive or dead. Simple. If it's dead, and was subject to attack from enemy air or other ground forces, then well, I guess those BTRs made it to their objective. This is a little bit simpler than trying to set triggers for each and every BTR unit -- and the more enemy BTR units advancing on the objective, the more work it would be to set up individual triggers AND the greater likelihood that they would seriously overrun that 'test hummer' sitting there. I am trying to model a decent ground FAC in this sim, so making sure the ground FAC unit is alive on the ground is sort part of the whole proposal - ain't nobody going to talk you onto your target if they are dead already.
