Can we substitute our own voice for that of Sim ?

With regards to communications between wing men, tower, ground crew etc, is it possible to change the .wav (or whatever the file type is) to files with Our OWN voices ?

If so, can someone please explain in reasonable detail how and where to do this (I do know how to create my own sound files .. just need to know appropriate file type/extension and locations and scripting changes if any).

Alternately, if there is already a thread on this topic, please provide a link to that thread. I searched for this topic using 8 different search attempts and got nothing even remotely related. In fact, I have no idea how anyone finds anything in this forum.

However, I am not complaining about the forum as I know there are many talented and helpful people here, several of which have already assisted me with stuff in the past.

Finally, I bought DCS: BS last fall and was just starting to get into it when I was given a very demanding puppy. I haven't had time or opportunity to even turn the game on since then. But I am hopeful I can now seriously get back into it, but hope to try to get everything set up just nicely before putting too much energy into actual training/flying and fun.

Thanks in Advance for any applicable assistance with this matter.

Have a great weekend.

The easiest way would be to replace the sound files, have a look in Sounds\Speech. The LEADER folder contains the sounds used for the flight lead, which is always the player since you can't play as a wingman.

The phrases are stored as individual files, so if you replaced each of those with you saying the phrase then it would be replaced in-game.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I appreciate the information as well as the knowledge of knowing we can change these voice files. I just thought it would be even more realistic if my communication with the Tower and/or Ground Crews etc were in my own voice.

Thanks to MacTheKnight for the WB. I hope you might still be willing to spend some time with me that you offered almost a year ago ? I'll be in touch with you re: that topic later. Hopefully, my dog will now allow me to get back into BS .. I am suffering major withdrawel from it. Otherwise .. the dog has to go !!

Thanks again everyone.
