Cavinca Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 So I have recent come across an old LOMAC disk that i gave up on long ago due to PC requirements. Anyways I got a hold of FC2(early birthday present:)) and have been trying it out. Newbie mistake #1: i cut invulnerable off in my pilots menu to see what it did. Probably needless to say, but I slammed into the ground in a later mission and lost all the medals/rank I had been awarded :D. Anyways I do not have trackir or the funds to purchase it. A trick i used in Falcon was to use a combination of padlock target, canopy lines, and glance forward/side. Is there anyway to use at least the Padlock feature and a glance forward (possibly cockpit lines too)? I can manipulate Cockpit Panel View Toggle (num0 + rctrl) to the hud by pressing (num5) which i can map to my x52. The only problem is its a zoomed view and i want an unzoomed, straight out the windscreen, forward view Thanks in advance
Exorcet Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I don't understand the question. Are you asking if you can reset your view to forward quickly while using padlock? If it is I don't know, I don't use padlock. I can't get TrackIR either, so I just used the default POV hat switch on the X52. It take a little bit to get comfortable with, but it's much better than quick view buttons IMO. As for the zoom issue, I remember LOMAC let you change the default zoom in cockpit view. FC2 probably does too, but I honestly can't remember. Cavinca Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 I don't understand the question. Are you asking if you can reset your view to forward quickly while using padlock? Kind of. I can reset the view just fine. What I want to do is: Padlock a target, when my camera gets so off center (ie. target at 6'oclock) i want to be able to glance forward by pressing a button(in order to regain situational awarness ie. airspeed, my aircraft orientation), release button that glances forward and return to my padlock. So "Padlock, glance forward, return to padlock"
Cavinca Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 After about 4 hours i finally figured it out. It takes a combination of custom snap views, and a macro for the x52 clutch button. Now i have access to mfds, hud, rwr, and other important interfaces while keeping my padlock. If anyone wants to try this method out let me know.
