ApolloFarStriker Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Any 3D application I run on my computer minimizes to desktop on a random basis every 3-5 minutes or so. The problem is that with LOMAC the game is still running and I usually alt-tab back only to find that I'm a smoking hole in the ground. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? I have a Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz, 1Gig RAM, ATI RADEON 9800XT, and Creative Audigy.
Orao Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 A question though. Did you turn windows accesibility on ? If yes than the awnser to your problem is there. Accesibility options are in control pannel. Usualy repating shitf control or win key strikes will bring you out of 3d application if this is turend on.
ApolloFarStriker Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 StickyKeys, Filterkeys et al were not checked. Neither was "turn off accesibility if idle for over XX minutes" though...I turned this one on to see if there is a difference. Thanks for the help so far guys.
ApolloFarStriker Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 Nope-no difference. I was thinking it might be a backround app-but I can't seem which...
Orao Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Do you have a programable flight control system such as X-52 45 or Cougar ? Try to check your programming there and see if there is no some sort of conflict. Saitek drivers are reported to have conflict with some devices.
ApolloFarStriker Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 I have a Cougar-It had never presented such a problem in the past however...
Orao Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Sorry I can't help you. I have no more idea on what could cause such thing.
BullDog Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Background programs I assume you regularly check for malware with something like "SpyBot". If not do so. I like to use "FSAutostart" to launch LOMAC. It is a nifty little app that allows you to shut off all non-needed processes on the computer just before it launches LOMAC for you. ApolloFarStriker Posted May 15, 2005 Author Posted May 15, 2005 Checked with Spybot-It was the damn WinTools .exes that always run in the backround and which you can't kill with Task Manager. UNinstalled them with (Add/Remove Software in CP), then ran Spybot. Clean as a bell now! thanks guys!
