Nate--IRL--
Is there a possibility for Sub-second triggering of flags? I have tried to edit the mission file to set a flag after say, 0.1 second, but it still takes a second for the flag to trigger (an explosion in this case). Sub-second processing would allow for the possibility of simulating stuff like ripple release bomb explosions, realistic looking flak etc. But it feels like all the triggers are evaluated at a one second tick rate, does any body know for sure? Nate I donno, I've always seen them evaluated rather slowly as well, sometimes longer than a second it seems. I always allow for at least three seconds delay when I am programming in triggers that are dependent on each other. Personally, I'd rather see things added to the game WITHOUT the need for triggers- instead of spending ages programming in 1000 triggers for flak, I'd rather see flak guns simply added to the game. There are ALOT of vitally needed units DCS lacks. I'm guessing that one day, if DCS stays alive, flak WILL be added (maybe even in A-10?)... if DCS stays alive long enough, it should eventually be the sim that makes all our dreams come true :) Anyway, I digress. Here is another thing to consider though, Nate, if you got subsecond trigger checking, that could possibly load down CPU cycles even more, though I am guessing even 1000 triggers doesn't take very long for a modern CPU to handle. If trigger checking is NOT a trivial process, maybe trigger checking could be offloaded to another processor in future DCS releases?
