Kenan Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 In one of my missions I tried to destroy group of georgian T-80UD's and whenever I made a lock and fired my missiles (both laser and infrared guided thru LLTV) those seemed to be diverted from the target and missed. I wasn't sure why was this happening, I went to google and found on this site http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/t-80.htm an info: T-84: Recent Ukrainian upgrade of T-80UD with a welded turret, a French ALIS thermal sight, a more powerful engine, optional use of ARENA active protection system (APS) and SHTORA-1 active IR ATGM jammer system. Does this apply to aircraft missiles or? It looks like it's modelled in LOMAC! :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . Croatian radio chat for DCS World
D-Scythe Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Not likely. Your Vikhr-M missiles are guided by laser, which itself is controlled by the LLTV Shkval (or Mercury? Forgot) system. Thus, an IR jammer will have no affect on your missiles. Now, if you were firing Brimstone missiles, that would be a different story...
coldcrew Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 sometimes when you fly too low the laser tends to lose lock. If the missile totally misses then the laser probably shut down before it hit the target
