rjsagel Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Hi, Old hand at air sims, new to A10 (BETA) What can I run in the BETA? Some of my selections either don't work or don't seem to work right. Air flight in "Quick" mission seems uncontrollable. What should I run first? I have a Saitek X52 and a fast computer to work with. Thanks in advance, Cheers, Ron Sagel
636_Castle Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Go to the main installation folder, go to the doc subfolder in there, and read the main manual. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!
einar-st Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Learn to use the Maverick and targeting systems with reading as little from the manual as you possibly can!!..... Then learn start up procedures, and finally open that shitty PDF-file from the Doc folder. Nah just kidding. Manual I guess would be a good start, although I tend to use it as a reference more than anything else.
Arclight Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Not sure about the first thing, but the second is definetly running around the room screaming "my head is exploding!". :D Seriously though, have a look at the manual and training missions ingame. Those still leave some stuff to be desired, but it will familiarise you with the systems non the less. Learn to start it, fly it, shoot it, in that order imho. Echonomix Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Read Read Read, Study Study Study, Practice Practice Practice. Learn how to fly it first. Then how to navigate. I then learned the guns and rockets and practicing putting them on target. As some things aren't completely implemented or working correctly given this is open beta, I just get and idea and see how to get it to work. Example, since laser guided bombs are a little buggy on beta 1, I'm not bothering with them and instead checking out jdam (gbu-38) instead. asus p7p55d deluxe | intel i5-750 @ stock | g.skill ripjaw 4gb | asus geforce gtx 470 @ stock | trackir 4 | thrustmaster hotas warthog | win7 home premium 64bit

rexehuk Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 This is what I done... - Read manual briefly regarding munition types etc - Do the START UP tutorial and pause at each section, making yourself a checklist on paper (use the ESC key to pause and write down the steps) - Do the navigation tutorials and learn how to use the avionics ystems - Do the weapons system tutorials (Make notes on the INS guided tutorial) - Understand how/what/why the TMS / DMS and CHINA hat do in game and what SOI (sensor of interest) and SPI do. That should get you in the AIR within 2-3 days and 10 hours of tutorials/reading.
