Just recieved my TIR 5 and installed the most up to date software direct from Natural Point. I understand that you have to run A-10C in 32 bit mode and that you need to start both the TIR and A-10A in Administrator Mode. I have sucessfully flown A-10C by using the profile? Black Shark. I can not find a dedicated A-10C profile. I have a hard time getting a steady closeup view on the Hud andor the MFCDs. Is there a Deadzone adjustment I need to make? Also I note that F7, F9 and F12 are used in the Sim so what should I change the controls on the TIR to. Any help greatly appreciated.:)

Personally I didnt change anything to default profile settings, except for increasing the yaw axis a bit so looking around takes less head motion. I wouldn't set deadzones as it means you need to move more and keep your eyes at awkward angles to look 180 degrees behind you for example.

It think it is normal it takes some time to get used to TIR and then you will not have problems anymore with closing up on certain parts of the cockpit. I also like to switch off tracking while i am in such a close up so I don't have to frantically keep my head still. (F9)

As for the buttons I have them mapped on Ctrl + F7,F9,F12. Only CTRL + F12 is mapped in game for civil traffic view but who needs civil traffic view :)

For the A10 profile I think you need to update compatible games, go to TRACKIR software and top right you will see an exclamation mark, click it and it will update.

Once you get used to it I swear you'll never fly without it again.

Thanks for the quick Response....Yes I can really see the advantage to this system and you are right it will get easier with more hours logged...I just don't want to re-invent the wheel so I am trying to get input from experience users of TIR

For me the TrackIR Z axis is linear at value of 1. For me this gives most natural head movement forward/backward and reduces the mini-jumping of the view in game. Light filter is on max also. Also I've changed pause/centre keys to / and * on num-keypad and they don't interfere with game commands.

I take it there are controls within TIR but I have no Idea where to start...as far as I know I am just using the default profile...do you make changes on the graphs on the left side of the TIR window?

First thing you need to know is you can't make changes to default profile (not within TrackIR software anyway, but you can manually edit the profile file with text editor)

First start TrackIR then copy default profile and give it a name. Then in advanced settings you can sellect each axis and edit the curve any way you like... you can also change what pause/centre keys to use... and when finished editing save the file.

When you say the default profile is this the A-10C profile or am I confusing the game access with a profile?

TrackIR comes with profile called "Default"... look through TrackIR software a bit.

okey, got the tir5, made configurations, played a-10c worked pretty well whit the track clip, and the pro clip also, tried both, the default clip seemed to perform better for me. now the tir went mad, camera sees some random light, even ven the light sens is set to real high, and lovered the lighting in the room. nothing, re-installed software, and still sees random light?

have you adjusted the light filter threshold? if you open the TIR software and look at the camera box is there any red showing? the camera could be too close to another surface and its picking it up. it could also be your head set that is reflecting light back and confusing it or the hat you may wear, it could have a shiny surface, mine has been confused by sweat in the summer time and i'm in knife fight with a 109 and its a little stressful. hope this gives you something to work with

Are you running TIR software in Admin mode?
