Hi all,

I am wondering if its possible to set a static mission time. Our Dedicated server runs 24x7 but missions spend half the time in night time... very realistic... but not condusive to continual play. Specially in the Black Shark as its not a great night fighter.

Is it possible to set the mission to a certain time of the day and hold it there in the mission editor?

Cheers

Nope. I sorta wish it was possible. I really like games that have the option to use an accelerated day/night cycle or make days longer and nights shorter. What you can do is this:

Set mission to summer time, preferably whichever date is summer solstice so you have the maximum possible time of daylight. Also make the start time dawn.

Or use servman and set the mission to pause while its empty. So if its 2pm and everyone leaves the server it will pause until a player joins, at this point the server will unpause.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Cheers Grimes. Yeah that is a bit of a pain. I know you used to be albe to do it in IL2 just by ticking a box. I will have to sit down and get serverman going... dosnt look to hard... just a matter of finding the time.

Thanks for the info.

If you run 4 missions on the server and all missions is based on 6 hour cycles you could make it possible with servman. Run one mission 06:00 to 12:00 and call if "06-daybreak.miz"; one from 12:00 and call it "12-full day.miz"; one for the evening starting 18:00 called "18-partytime.miz" and at last the "24-night time.miz" running from 24:00 to 06:00. That would work great if you scheduled an automatick restart of your server (or game) at 05:55 every night.

EDIT: You must set servman to keep your missions running even if there are no players ;)
