element1108 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Nice links, thanks for posting hadn' seen the p47 one (+1). Maybe bob sow will include some of these adjustables in their release. A2A's p47 with accusim gives you a taste of all the systems of flying these planes outside of throttle full dog fighting that's for sure. For a new pilot in combat to fight and manage would be daunting. The pilots who succeeded were the ones who could push their birds to the edge. Wrong mixture, poorly managed engine etc could end things really soon in a dogfight. Fuel gauges, navigation (visual) turning weather on top of that.
leafer Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 I never knew you had to do all that stuff just to put it in a dive. I know these things become an after thought but what happens when a zero pops behind and you need to dive away? I can't access that site, A.S. I was reminded of this thread while I was watching that Corsair video. I know some of us, me included, like to think we could pilot a real aircraft after years of virtual flying. The video also reminded me of the late Jeff Ethell. http://www.avweb.com/news/safety/183014-1.html ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
