sneakypete Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) Finally pulled the trigger on one of these beauties and it arrived this morning. This is a monster of a HOTAS and everything I expected. Loaded up the Luas' in DCS A-10 and everything seems to be working fine. Love the feel of it although it's a bit of a shock having come from a CH Fighterstick. I have my suspicions that this particular stick/throttle has been used previously. No damage, just tell tale signs like fingermarks and slightly shoddy looking plastic bags that the units were in from the box. The box wasn't sealed (not sure if any are) and it has a very low serial number '00160'. Could I have possibly have been supplied with a return/refurb? It's not a huge deal as all is working ok it seems, on the other hand I payed for a new unit and expect to have received one. Returning to Amazon will cost around £15-£20 also. I'd be interested to know what your serial is if you've purchased a Warthog from Amazon UK recently. Thoughts!? Edited November 27, 2010 by sneakypete Added text
Fopeyducker Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I'd have sent them an email already if it was me. It wouldn't have been a very polite email either! Like you said you paid for a NEW unit, it obviously isn't. As for the return cost I'd expect those back as well. --------------- MSI GD65 Gaming | i7 4770k Haswell @ 4.7ghz, | H110 water cooler | 32Gb ddr3 | Sound Blaster Zx | MSI GTX 1080Ti | 1x 250Gb SSD's + 2x 500Gb SSD | Acer Predator 34" (3440x1440) | TrackiR 5 + UTC Light | Win 10 Pro 64bit | 2x Thrustmaster MFD's | MFG Crosswinds (ordered) | Thrustmaster Warthog :smartass: --------------------
Fopeyducker Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Just a thought, have you looked on the warthog database that is here to see if the previous owner was one of us. Would be funny if it was, especially if Amazon trys to deny it's preowned, you could then email them back giving them the name and address of previous owner :) --------------- MSI GD65 Gaming | i7 4770k Haswell @ 4.7ghz, | H110 water cooler | 32Gb ddr3 | Sound Blaster Zx | MSI GTX 1080Ti | 1x 250Gb SSD's + 2x 500Gb SSD | Acer Predator 34" (3440x1440) | TrackiR 5 + UTC Light | Win 10 Pro 64bit | 2x Thrustmaster MFD's | MFG Crosswinds (ordered) | Thrustmaster Warthog :smartass: --------------------
CrashEd Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 ^^Good thinking. There's also the new Wathog World website. They may also have a serial database? http://www.warthogworld.com/ Hope you get it sorted one way or another.
sneakypete Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 Fopey, thanks for your thoughts. I did go through the database on here and at SimHq but couldn't see it. If anyone recognises the serial 00160 then it would be helpful if you'd let me know. Thanks again
sneakypete Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 Thanks for the heads up CrashED. Just checked on Warthog World and it's not amongst their database. The lowest serial they have on there is 00128 and the highest is over 02000. I'd say I've got a very early TM Warthog here!
hassata Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Maybe the warehouse boys took it out and had a look. Still better than running into any of the bootloader issues. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
