Bahger Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 #2 is beyond my capabilities, Kylania, I only have Moviemaker and can't separate out the sound effects. I don't have Vegas or any fancy DV editing software. I can easily change the game window size, though. Please clarify: Can I play the mission in my usual res (1920 x 1200, full screen) and then play the track and record it at 1280x720? Or do I have to actually play the mission in that res?
Druid_ Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 You should be able to play at normal res and playback at the recording res. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
E61-v1T1 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Just make sure you make the MFD that's displaying the TAD your SOI. Just slew the + over the red triangle (data) point and you will see that it automatically hooks to the TAD. Then go up short on your DMS and it will now be your current SPI. Now you have a vector to the target area. China HAT forward long to slew your TGP on that SPI and now your TGP is looking in that general area where the target is ( you should see it.. if not zoom or use your boat switch to change to White hot or Black hot. Once you have it the TGP on your target DMS switch up long will stabilize and lock it as your steer point indicator. Now if you are having the FAC laze your target you just need to hit the LSS OSB on the TGP and put it in search mode and your TGP will automatically search that area looking for the laser being painted on the target once you make the laser on call to the FAC. You don't need to go DMS up long to set is as your SPI.. just get in that area... LSS on... and Laser on call... and bingo the TGP will find it and get a perfect point laser track. I imagine that when you say "DMS", is "TMS" actually meaning? or am I wrong? Bahger Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 I imagine that when you say "DMS", is "TMS" actually meaning? or am I wrong? No, you are right. Also, when nomdeplume says "use the TGP as normal" with laser-guided weapons, this might be a little misleading if you are getting the lase from the FAC as opposed to using your a/c's lasing capability. If the latter, then yes, use the TGP to refine your targeting and make the target your SPI with TMS up/long (after you've used TMS up/short to get either an area or point track). If the former, all you need to do in the TGP, after you've asked the FAC to switch his laser on, is use DMS right/long (yes, DMS) to switch on your LSS, which receives the signal and will guide to the target, point-designating it for you. Then you make it your SPI in the usual way.
diveplane Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) In principal you did quite well, although as already stated, your attack run is quite hazardous and also unrealistically executed. If you are aiming for realism, you might want to consider attacking from a bit higher in a steeper angle, as this makes it easier to hit from a greater distance and also increases the effect of the gun on armored targets. Also you should come off your attack run way before overflying the target area for several reasons, especially when employing the gun, as the ricochets might bite yourself in the ass if you overfly straight. Attacking from further out and finishing your run earlier will also help you if the column has AAA protection (although if it's radar guided, you'd best snipe it with a mav or LGB from far away before getting close). Just my 2 cents. another attack method i enjoy if your carrying GBU-38s , a GBU attack drop from high alts. still hear and see the aaa lock you up, but cant reach you. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/images/gbu-38_041004-f-0000s-001.jpg CCRP mode all the way love it. debuffer Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Hello guys, dont know if this information is already posted by another person but here it goes, ill try to explain the JTAC as good as i can here (refer to manual): When you check-in, you will automatically radio the JTAC key information that includes: 1. Your mission number 2. Location from Initial Point (IP) and your altitude 3. What you are armed with 4. How long you are available (hours + minutes) ------------------------------------------------------------------ The JTAC will now read the 9-line as follows: 1. The Initial Point (IP) that the attack should be started from. This is a point created in the Mission Editor and is a NAV point in the CDU 2. Attack heading to the target and any offset needed 3. Distance to target 4. Elevation of target (MSL) 5. Target type 6. UTM coordinates of target 7. How the target is marked (None, White Phosphorus (WP=Willy Pete), Laser, or IR Pointer) 8. Location of nearby friendly ground forces 9. Control point to egress to With the read back complete, the JTAC will message "Standby for data". Soon after you will receive a text message digital 9-line on your MSG page and a small, red triangle will appear on the TAD at the target location. You can then use the TAD cursor to make this new symbol your SPI. To accept the tasking, press the WILCO OSB. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- During a JTAC directed attack, the JTAC menus allow some additional options not mentioned above. These include: 1. Repeat Brief. JTAC will repeat the 9-line briefing. 2. What is my target? JTAC will repeat the type of target that you are tasked to destroy. 3. Contact. This command is made to the JTAC to verify that the correct target is at the SPI location. You will report contact and provide a target description and MGRS coordinates. The JTAC will respond with a positive acknowledgment or with warning about contacting the wrong target. In its response, the JTAC also provide directions to the correct target. 4. Request BDA. JTAC will update you on the status of the directed target. 5. Unable to comply. Informs the JTAC that you are unable to carry out the instructed task. 6. Check Out. Ends JTAC control. next ill explain the different designations.
debuffer Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (From manual) Coordinate Only Designation: When the JTAC does not have line of sight to the target (often the case with Type 2 and 3), it will only be able to designate the target as a MGRS coordinate. The easiest way to target the coordinate is to make the red triangle data link symbol on the TAD your SPI. You can also create a new waypoint using the coordinate and select it as a Mission point from the CDU. After receiving the point data, the JTAC will clear you to engage. After your attack is complete, press \ and press F1 "Attack Complete". Smoke Designation: After receiving the point data, the JTAC will ask you to report when you are IP inbound. When you are ready to proceed from the IP to the target, press \ and F1 "IP Inbound" to start your attack. If you are inbound from the IP, the JTAC will then tell you to continue. At this point, you need to wait for the JTAC to mark the target with smoke. When you are within 10 nm of the target, the target will be marked with white smoke and the JTAC will radio that the "mark is on the deck". Once you have a visual on the smoke, press \ and then F1 "Contact the mark". The JTAC will then radio back the location of the target from the smoke marker. Once heading toward the target, press \ and then F1 "In" to indicate that you've started your attack run. If all looks good to the JTAC, he will clear you in hot. If not, he will abort the attack. Once you have released your weapon, press \ and then F1 "Off". Depending on the results of your attack, you will either be cleared to re-attack or cleared to depart. If cleared to re-attack, you need to start the process again from the IP Inbound stage of the attack. Laser Designation: If the JTAC has tasked you to use GBU-10 or GBU-12 laser-guided bombs on the target, it will laser designate the target for you. During the 9-line, the laser code that you should search for is listed (1688 as default). Which as already said can be automatically searched with the TGP (targeting pod)by pressing the LSS to ON, its located on the upper right corner of the TGP monitor.
RodBorza Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Very nice video. I was wondering if an OA-10 could be implemented. I even post is as a feature on the Wish List. Hope we can do ths in Multiplayer someday. Maybe now since the patch is out, we can. This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog
